Reset maintenance light

There are 2 way to reset the maintenance light on Civic.
1. Manually reset
To reset this maintenance light, you will put the key in the ignition. Next you will press and hold the odometer reset knob, which can be found on the dash where the car's current mileage is located. While you continue holding that know, you will turn the key to the first position but do not start the engine. After about 10 seconds, the maintenance light should disappear. If the light is still on, you can turn off the vehicle and then try the process again. Once the light is off, you are all set until your next schedule maintenance.

2. Hook up a HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) software on a laptop, the light will go off within minutes.

I changed oil in my honda civic 2008 but i don't know how to reset maintenance light

You use the button that resets your trip odometer to reset the maintenance light.

with the key in the ignition but not turned on, hold the trip reset button in with one hand. then, while holding the button in, turn the ignition key to the ON position so that the lights on the dash come on.

Continue to hold the reset button in and watch the maintenance light. it will take about 15 seconds for the light to go out

When the light goes out, turn the ignition key OFF and then release the trip reset button.

Your light will be reset and come on in about another 5000 miles to remind you of the next service

Hope that helps
