My 1996 Hyundai Accent Auto will start perfectly from cold but when i have driven sometimes even short distances in hot weather and turn off car it will not start again for sometimes over 1 hour. The temperature gauge is reading fine, not overheated ? Any suggestions most welcome as when i am driving the car i cant turn it off !.

Seems to me it's the engine coolant temperature sensor or the connecting wire to it. Some Model/Year (MY) hyundai's have TWO (2) temperature sensors.. one for the instrument panel/gauge, the other strictly used by the ECU (Engine Control Unit)... if this sensor goes bad, it sends the wrong data/signal to the ECU and this can affect engine performance.

hello, if you car stalls instanly maybe your ignition system has a loose connection or even has a short somewhere. but if it coughing but still trying to idle normally maybe your carb dirty. one thing, some carbs has a solenoid air switch attached on one of its side. if this solenoid is shorted damaged you'll have the same effect. hope this helps.
