It started out with the rmps dropping to zero than kicking back in and continuing to drive. Now it still does that but now it will sometimes shut off completely and I have to pull over and start it up again.

Can you tell me what year, model, size engine it is, etc.? I have an 87 Wrangler 4 cylinder that does pretty much the same thing only sometimes I have to let it cool off before it will start again.
