This is a problem in the Park/Neutral position switch or wiring.
Apparently Camrys of your vintage often suffer chafing and breakage of the wiring around the rear trunk lid hinge, driver's side. The backup light conductor there chafes and breaks, which the ECU sees as a fault P1780.
P-1780 refers to a malfunction in the park/neutral position switch. You may have corrosion in the wiring connector, a bad park/neutral switch, or a wiring issue.
