there could be a couple of things causing the engine to stall, most common would be a large vacuum leak, check all vacuum hoses under the hood paying close Attn. to the large hose going to the power brake booster, but the most common thing to cause a idle stall is a idle control motor some times it is called an idle air motor.
turn motor by hand to see if its locked up if it turns then you have a weak starter if motor doesnt turn then you have a serious issue could be a timing chain problem or even a valve issue or motor needs rebuild or replaced
first ... Make sure that you have vacuum to your control head. This is normally the black vacuum line. The vacuum than goes to the various vacuum motors on the Heater /AC case. These vacuum motors rarely fail. The normal fault is loss of engine vacuum ..cut line or not secure to engine. second.. a fault with the vacuum reserve reseviour. When the engine needs the vacuum this is your vacuum supply.
u must have knocked the vacuum hose off when u changed the motor, that (vacuum) is what moves the air to the different outlets, the vacuum comes from the engine and enters the cab on the passenger side..
Yes, the engine mounts and bell housings are the same.
The swap should be straight forward, however be sure to swap all the vaccum controls and emission system from the 2.6L.
It is very likely that the vacuum hoses are the problem. The only people that have a manual with the diagram you need is a dodge dealer, contact the service dept at your local dealer and they will probably photo copy you a diagram from the service manual.
