Hi. The correct pressure can be found on the sticker in the fuel flap. I dont know what your 80 is. If it is 225/40/18 then I think it is 2.4 bar.

tire pres spec should be in drivers door jam or on fuel filler door. but 32f/40 rear should be ok if booot is full and tires can handle 40 psi

What is the correct tyre pressure for R14

I'm assuming this is about a rim size for a tyre? The tyre pressure will depend on a number of different things. The tyre size that is fitted, the vehicle it is fitted to, the weight it regularly carries and the average speeds the tyre has to cope with.
Most modern cars and trucks have a plate somewhere on the car giving the tyre size and recommended pressures for light load and fully loaded. It is often on a hidden panel.
Starting with the driver's door, open each door in turn and look at the area normally hidden by the door when it is closed. Also check inside the fuel filler cover.
There are plenty of online sites where you can look the pressures up if you have the vehicle and the tyre size.

I had my tyres changes (they wear frequently and nobody can tell me whats wrong)...as I drove off my ASR light came on and the car lost power, is this dangerous? Can it wait to be fixed?

Tyre wear is related to the load you put on your tyres and the pressures you run them at, many tyre suppliers have charts to show you visually why your tyres are wearing and what you should do. Low pressure and high pressure both stress the tyres more than the correct pressure. There is a guide to what pressure your tyres should run at for light and heavy loading, adjusting the pressure for a trip can also save fuel and improve handling. VW recommend 28 Psi all round for your 2003 Passat on standard Tyres.
The ASR light indicates that your stability control system is working, if it is just cutting in as you hit adverse conditions then it is working how it should, if it is staying on go talk to your VW Mechanic , there may be a fault, try turning the ASR button on and off on the dash.

Im looking for a tyre pressure sensor for my renault laguna 2033 plate but not sure what im looking for or how to fit one thank you

1. The tyre has to be removed to fit the tyre valve/ sensor unit to the wheel. . Tyre dealers will do this for you when you supply the sensor.

2. Any renault dealer parts department can sell you a new sensor.

3. The new sensor has to be programmed to the car's tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

3. Here is a list of information about the Renault Laguna tyre pressure sensors to assist you. The 2nd link below shows a picture of the tyre valve/sensor unit that fits to your wheel.

Honest john car faults

You could change rims and compensate with different tires but make sure you have the clearence for calipures and stuff that may rub on the rim before you commit your self to the new rims.

Tyre preassure

Each tire has its own rating and performance. The tire size does not determine the tire's pressure ratings. There is small lettering on the tire that will tell you its max pressure rating. If you can not find it because the tire may be too old or just too dirty to read then Look up the brand of tire such as Michelin, Uniroyal, Goodyear, and Google the tires specs. the manufacture ratings will be easy to look up.

My tire pressure warning light is on saying underinflated pressure although I checked the tiresand the pressure and they were OK. The warning light remains on. How do I fix this?

Had the same problem with my 2006 passat, there is a tyre pressure button on the lower central console on the drivers side of the gearstick, make sure your tyres are at the correct pressure first, then with the engine running press in this button and hold it in for about 10 seconds, this will reset the tyre pressure warning to the pressure that is currently in the tyres

Chnaged all four tyres from specilized tyre shop. After reaching home, found continue petrol drops from beneath near rear right tyre. This leakage occurs only when engine running. any link with tyre...

I have never seen anything which contains petrol in a tyre or wheel. Are you sure that you do not have a leaking brake component, such as a slave cylinder or caliper, at that wheel? Check your master cylinder. Failing that check the route of your fuel line, I would suspect some type of rupture, given today's fuel line pressures it could be spraying from anywhere onto the tyre.

VW Passat Estate on Alloy wheels with 235/45/ZR17 tyres. want to find winter tyre suitable for 16 inch steel rim for same vehicle. Steel rim is marked 61x2JX16H2

okay, 235 is the tread width 45 is the profile(the distance from the wheel to the road)ZR is the speed rating(over 120mph)17 is the wheel diameter.so to get the same tread width 225 would fit(cheaper than 235)45 needs to be thicker cos of 16" not 17" wheels and 1"=25.4mm 75 would be the choice.because winter tyres are designed for speeds less than 70mph "R" would be suitable.
all together 225/ 75(or 85) R 16.....SNOW TYRE/WINTER TREAD.
PLEASE LEAVE FEED BACK.

Tyre wear

When this happens it means that you have a convergence problem. Go to a tyre fitter, mention the problem, and after fitting the tyre ask to perform a balancing and convergence setup on rear wheels, this should fix the problem.
