Neddle shows empty after filling tank with fuel. Needle shows half tank when fuel burns to half.

got a feeling your tank float is sticking if it resets after you shake the car side to side this is it. if not try your remote fuel sensor

Hello. Before getting involved in real repairs, dump a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in your fuel tank. It may clean your sending units enough to get them working again. The chances of success are only about 50%, but the cost is very low. Redline, Chevron, and others make good fuel injection cleaner.

its a bit dificult find a good technician and ask him to see the guage inside the fuel tank for fault
i suggest dont try this at home

1995? it has 3 location 1 in the tank or on the side of the frame, more likey your fuel pump is in the tank and if in the tank the hose that feeds the FD in the tank is leaking, and thus no pressure to the fuel distributor

SOURCE: Hi Geeks, I have a C200, 2002 model and it has a fuel meter problem, When the tank is empty the meter still shows half tank. Is that some where is a loose wire etc ? Please help !

Usually if the gauge is off, the gauge on the dash is faulty, or the sending unit inside the gas tank.
A mechanic would disconnect the harness at the tank and test the gauge on the dash.
