Are you getting any codes from the Check Engine Light? This sounds like it could have something to do with a sensor. Check your air filter and make sure it's clean. The tach on my 1999 doesn't really work, but it hasn't coincided with other driveability problems. The engine doesn't change in it's RPM's, the tachometer just stops working. Have your charging system checked. The shaking might be coming from bad fuel pump operation, clogged fuel filter, or dirty fuel injectors. Try putting an additive into your gastank to clean the injectors (a bottle of Seafoam is great for this). Try calling your local Autozone and see if they do free trouble code scanning. This might help lead you in a better direction.

The first thing i would do is check the colour of my engine oil if it is either grey or white or has these colours in it as bubbles or even any conditioin other than black or dark brown it means you have blown your head gasket as this problem frequently appears when your engine has overheated

Replaced oil pan gasket 2003 ford taurus with 211,000 miles. ran fine that night then next day rocker arms loose. i took off valve cover lifters are not collapsed. is valve springs wore can i put washers...

If this all happened after pan gasket change, chances are you knocked the oil pump pickup and the pump is sucking air. You've lost oil pressure. Fix that. Do NOT add washers. That's not your problem.

2003 Ford Taurus, 81,000 miles. MPG down to 19-20. Car has no mechanical or electronic issues and runs great. Good brakes, no drag in chassis. New plugs, wires, Cam position sensor and air filter....

I would check for vacuum leaks. And clean the mass air flow sensor and the throttle body. (use break clean) spray the sensor and use a toothbrush on the throttle plate and as far as you can reach in it. I would also replace the air and fuel filters if you haven't done this with in a year.

2003 F150 4.6 w/ 90K miles using a quart of oil every 3 weeks. what's most likely cause?

A V8 engine will start to consume more oil as they get more and more
miles on them. The valve stem seals and piston rings wear, and let
more and more oil burn off in the exhaust. How many miles are you
travelling in said 3 weeks?

08 accord ex-v6 auto. engine vibration @ idle in park or (gear at stop) when engine is cold to warm until it fully warms. dealer states it's normal. dealer showed me another accord with similar shake.???...

I've got an 08 4cyl and it doesn't really have the vibration unless its really cold. Usually if I give it about 30 seconds...when the rpms start to come down, its barely noticeable.
