SOURCE: When accelerating alternator light comes on.

Possible loose or worn alternator belt. Check the condition of the belt. If it's worn, replace it. If it's just loose, tighten it up.

I HAVE A 2003 PT CRUISER AND THE BATTRY LIGHT IS ON NEW BATTERY NEW ALT AND THEY SAY IT IS THE VOLTAGE REG

The PT cruiser uses a field signal from the PCM to regulate the voltage. If you are not getting approximately 14 volts at the battery terminals when the engine is running, either:
  1. The replacement alternator is faulty.
  2. The generator field control signal from the PCM is faulty.
  3. The Fusible Link between the alternator and the Starter Motor (which is also the same electrical point as the battery positive terminal is open.
Use the diagram below and check the alternator output at the point labeled "A11 6 BK/GY" If this is 14 volts and there is not 14 volts at the battery terminals, then the Fusible link is bad. If there is no voltage or way less than 15 volts at the alternator, then the alternator or the PCM field signal is bad. Ensure the connector from the PCM is connected properly.

I am trying to tell if my alternator or battery is shot she starts up with a jumper cable and a light on the dash shows and exclamination point with a circle around it its a 2002 audi a4 quarto

once you get it started, while its running, simply disconnect the positive battery wire. if the car stays running then your altenator is fine, and its the battery thats bad. if it dies immediately, then the altenator is shot and battery is fine.

Alt not working can i replace volt. reg.?

No, it is buried inside of the alternator. Replace the whole alternator.

2000 Windstar no charge light

Check all connections to alt. and battery to make sure they are clean and tight, as it sounds like a loose or dirty connection someplace. Possibly something not tightened completely after battery and alt. replaced? (just enough to get the annoying light to go on occasionally)

Low volts light stays on

new altenator or junkyard one.if new return it, if junkyard just ignore light as its odds on they will not change it .the red light is caused by the difference in the voltage between input and output voltages .Quick test --start engine and run at 1500rpm disconnect battery and turn everything electrical on and if engine stops then change altenator if it stays running then altenator is OK
