What should I check other than fuses, I changed cam sensor checked crank sensor, I need an idea on what else to check
Take to car to a diagnostic center, and they will attach a diagnostic machine to the car to see if it's the onboard-computer that's malfunctioning.
If the fuses are all OK, and the starter cranks the engine, but there's no firing, the diagnostic system will tell the tech what it is, there are various reasons there's no firing when the engine cranks,
Someone may say check the disable switch on the transmission, but if that's broken, the starter will not crank the engine.
SOURCE: car just shut down on highway. Mech says I need a new crank senso
no you just need to remove the timing belts and crank gear all can be done in car i am a kia master certified technician and have replaced a few of these on both v6 and 4 cyl
SOURCE: will not fire
remove crank sensor and with the conector still conected to it, pass a metal rench or any thing metalic to the fron of the crank sensor, and you shoul be hable to hear the fuel pump or the spark at coils, if not most likelly the sensor is bad,
SOURCE: MY fan belt broke now the car won't start.
if ur fan belt broke n ur water pump is run by it look out knock senser usually controls ur injector pulse so yea it will not start crank too cam no
SOURCE: 2002 Kia Sportage will not start.
p0560 is system voltage problem. open or short between the battery positive and the ecm.CHECK ALL FUSES. dosnt matter what they are labeled under dash and under hood replace any that are bad and retry to start. no start then check voltage to ecm grounds to. i dont have a wireing diagram to give you but for a small fee or free the dealer can make you a copy.make sure all the wires that go to battery terminals are not corroded and are making good contact [verified with volt meter]. if after all checks ok then replace ecm. as a side note i havent had to change one ever.
Testimonial: "Thank you for the help. We will continue to check all fuses and wires."
SOURCE: Car would not start, after siiting for an hour it did start .
mcdevito75 here, BEST BET, let the shop do this work, too many un forseen problems could come up. The stalling and unable to start for a while could also be a bad ignition module, no test for this part, but I would have it changed, for if it is a bad ignition module, all this other work will not fix the stalling and later start of your car.
