Sometimes, when I put my Corvette in drive, it just dies. I try it about 3 or 4 times & it does the same thing. Then when I try it again, it takes right off. I took it to Payne Chev. Olds and they said I may need to change my mourglars, because of a acid spill. Could that be the problem or something else.

I have a 85 coupe,the pumps are notorous for going out.Best bet is empty the whole tank.the pump .Is easy to pull its under the filler door.1 make sure its not your security system shutting off
your injectors .2 turn key in on poss and open gas door you should hear the motor.If not
disconnect batt and remove.be car e you dont lose the screen.once out dry off and hook up to any batt to check.there only 30 bucks but make sure you ground it out right and dont turn it on in a dry tank ,you will burn it out.

It is one of 2 things fuel pump or Crank Shaft Position Sensor. Best bet would be the Crank Shaft Sensor, and what that does is tell the computer where the crank is and when to fire the right plug at the right time
