What job? which engine.? 3.7L SOHC, engine? or the 4.7 V8?
3.7 is just a 4. 7 with missing 2 cyl. (the engine plants in Detroit are side by side)
hacking ?(if true, i can prove it wont work what ever you are doing) ask why?)
or diagnosing them? sure can help,
the FSM book covers this, ever heard of the factory service manual. ??? aka. SM? but the Factory one is BEST !
the chapter 8 covers all this. ever inch of wires. covered.

the IAT has 2 wires, see it there, its obvious the colors.
the MAF, what maF? ) sure you meant MAP ok?)

2005 is a WK jeep,
the full manual is here
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

if you use the live data from the scan tool
you can see if either are reading wrong, did you?>

my guess is you meant air flow sensors in general.
there are 2 kinds, MAP and MAF
most jeeps run a MAP and not a MAF.!
if you knew how to test both you'd for sure know what is there.
In fact i always check this first. (speed density/air density systems are radically different)

there is no MAF.
the MAP measures Baro vacuum in the plenum
and the PCM has very complex tables that computer injection rates vacuum readings (air flow is calculated on this engine not measured directly with a MAF)
page 8w-30-11 and 30-16 cover both sensor wiring.

the map only measures vacuum (or in science, Baro pressure).
i have the baro to voltage reading chart for this sensor.
if you need it.
ah shucks , this guy has it...

http://www.fixkick.com/sensors/my-map.html#Jeep

some FSM its missing this very important chart.
grab it and keep it.

Should be on left side of intake manifold. Goes into intake to sense temperature inside intake.

SOURCE: Where is the camshaft sensor located on my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee

If you still have a cap rotor and ignition wires, it's inside the distributor. If not, it is the part where the distributor used to be (center rear of the engine behind the intake manifold)

SOURCE: bank 2 sensor 2 2005 jeep grand cherokee replace

I seriously don't know where that sensor is located? Banks usually
reffer to the engine ignition coils on the engine, not drive or passenger side, anything. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help.
Good luck.

Where is the IAT sensor on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7L

great question, on some cars, its NOT THERE.
nice how you actually state engine option.
but way not post symtoms, or evidence. (got DTC errors from scan tool?)
fsm says.
4.7 quote:
The Intake Manifold Air Temperature IAT sensor is located on the left side of the intake manifold.
For a temperature of 68F (20C) the resistance is approximately 6000 ohms. For a temperature of 104F (40C) the resistance is approximately 3300 ohms. (this forum hates degrees symbols , dang)

its just a Thermistor. NTC

on some cars, its in the MAF
others its screwed in to the air cleaner box.
others, (yours) its in the air plenum. (MAP base EFI)
the map system needs the plenum baro and temp. TOGETHER.

The intake air temp sensor is part of the MAF sensor so yes there are 5 wires.
The two wires that go to the air temp sensor are tan and black. The other three are for the MAF.

I need to know which wires from my air box plug are the IAT (Intake Temperature Sensor) and which are the MAF (Mass Air Flow) wires.

sorry i do not know the colours off the top of my head, but the IAT it the small 2 wire sensor about halfway up the air duct, and the MAF is the large multi wire connector close to the air filter box. good luck!
