SOURCE: The truck won't start, Fuel

Fuel pump replaced, crank sensor replaced, coil, wires and plugs all replaced, now truck acts like it's flooding out and won't continue to run.. problem started with truck shutting itself off while driving. you could let it sit and cool off and it would restart but only for a few minutes..

SOURCE: suburban low pressure from fuel pump

Try checking the fuel filter and then the pressure regulator on the rail. If the pressure regulator is bad it will not let the pump push enough pressure. And if the filter is clogged then it will also not let the engine get enought pressure. I have seen pumps starter going out by losing pressure. I have also seen aftermarket pumps quit after about a week unles you did not change the whole assembly.

Testimonial: "Thanks! I was unaware of the regulator. We did check the filter. Great info!"

SOURCE: no spark when trying to start the engine on 98 chevy blazer

I have a 98 bravada where I was not getting no spark and no fuel, after replacing few parts it came down to the ECM fuse was blown. After replacing the fuse it ran for 20 seconds and stopped again. It blew fuse again. Put 30 amp fuse and it continues to run. Problem now is the heating and cooling is off. Been told could be a short in cable or something in ECM is shorting. Was told by parts guy at Checkers that if putting higher amp fuse in blows as well there is definite problem with ECM. As of now have not had ECM checked.

Need to know where the location of fuel pump is on 85 t -bird

If fuel injected- Central Fuel Injection, as I think it was, the electric pump should be in the gas tank. If still carbureted, it will have a mechanical fuel pump on the engine.

2004 325xi BMW wont start - replace spark plugs and fuel pump

If u hear the engine cranking in the AM, the batt & alt sound good. If you don't get any engine cranking in the am you may have an electrical short draining the battery. Before u convict the starter u must make sure the battery has full power in the AM. (12V) & 12 V to the starter

I let my truck run really low on gas in the cold and I think it may be frozen gas lines, the truck turns over but is not getting it's fire just thinking it might not be getting it's gas could I thaw it out...

Well, you need to check for spark and for fuel. To avoid wearing down your battery, I would put a charger or jumper cables on the battery as you do these tests.

You can test for spark this way. Pull a spark plug wire, and then insert either the end of a phillips screw driver or an old spark plug. Now, keeping your hands away from the metal, hold the screwdriver shaft very close but not touching an engine ground. Or, if you are using an old spark plug, touch the plug end to a ground. Be careful to have a very close gap to ground to avoid damaging your ignition system. Now have a helper turn the key to start the engine. If you see a spark jumping the gap of the spare plug or from the screwdriver shaft to the ground, then you know you have spark.

If you do have spark, then reattach the wire and try starting the engine again with a little starting fluid sprayed into the throttle body. If you don't have starting fluid you can also use a capful of pure alcohol or a very small anount of gasoline poured into the throttle body. Starting fluid is the safer bet. If the engine sputters and kicks over for a second, you know that the problem is fuel delivery to the throttle body, and it may be related to water in the lines (possible, but unlikely) or dirt and debris that clogged the filter from the low tank, or some other issue such as a bad fuel pump.

Drive'n and i thought i ran out of gas /try to prym it

when low on gas the impuritys in the tank can clog the fuel filter, so if the fuel pump has air in it , it might not be able to overcome the resistance in the filter, replace fuel filter and try again

1999 Tahoe won't turn over

If it is not a fuel problem, then it has to be either not enough air or an electrical starting problem. Try starting it without the air filter in place. It could also be a bad plug or more likely a bad spark plug or coil wire.
