2007 jeep compass 4wd light flashes overtemperature code after changing front wheel bearing

After changing right front wheel bearing 4wd drive light flashes in dash. scan tool says an overtemperature issue after only driving a 1/4 mile.we are aware of magnetic strip in new bearing and installed it correctly.

How tight did you make the nut holding the bearings onto the spindle? Did you change the bearing races too? Recheck the torque values to see if they are correct. an old race on a new bearing will cause temperature problems.

SOURCE: front wheel bearings 98 jeep cherokee 2WD

You will need several tools to replace the bearing besides a socket set of metric and standard sizes to remove the wheel and brake caliper. A 36mm socket (may be rented at some auto parts stores) An Impact Wrench for the 36mm socket (air or electric should work) A torque wrench (IMPORTANT!)- the 3 rear bearing bolts (12mm?) need to be torqued properly or else they will fail and cause the wheel to separate, i believe they need to be at 75 ft/lbs. Please check. Do not attempt to do this yourself unless you have the proper tools and know how to use them.  I recommend getting at least the Haynes manual that the stores have or buying the Dealers Service Manual (expensive but thorough and usually available on ebay!)

Our Jeep Wrangler YJ's are equipped with a vacuum module on the front axle. It is used to engage the front axle when the transfercase is shifted into 4WD. Check the vacuum lines on the front axle to make sure they are connected. The passenger side axle shaft has a disconnect sleeve that is moved left and right by the vacuum.

4-Wheel Drive

  1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  3. Remove the front wheels.
  4. Remove the calipers, but don't disconnect the brake lines. Suspend the calipers out of the way.
  5. Remove the rotor.
  6. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten wheel lug nuts to 75 ft. lbs. (101 Nm).

The lights are being turned on by your BCM or Body Control Module. It's located under the driver's side knee bolster, but it will probably have to be taken to the Dealership to hook up their DRB III to ascertain as to why the BCM is turning on all of your lights.

2007 Jeep compass C101F code. Only threw the code after I replaced the wheel bearing, cv shaft and wheel speed sensor. What now?
This is possibly an issue with the Right Front wheel speed sensor. The ECU is reading a different speed on that wheel compared to the Left side. Check your wiring for the sensor you've fitted. Make sure it is fitted correctly and tightly fastened down. Check both sides.
It will be worth getting the ABS module checked as well. The sometimes throws up error codes if wheel speed sensors are disconnected or replaced.
