SOURCE: my 97 chevy blazer, the brake lights dont work but

More likely it is the hazard/turnsignal/highbeam/cruise control switch module. It costs about $275 for the module. However there is a repair kit for the likely culprit...the hazard button. Try jiggling it around a little, see if that helps. Spray a little WD-40 into it so it can jostle back into it's correct position. You could try a junkyard unit or Ebay. It's not too hard to change. The hard part is doing it without removing the steering wheel. It can be done. I've done it. But hopefully you can locate the repair kit which costs about 15 dollars. Good luck.

SOURCE: Brake light dont work. 2006 chevy truck, 4.8L 2wd

Some of these had two fuses for brake lights. One for the top/center stop lamp and another for the rear left and right brake lights. Usually one said "stop" and the other said "brake" and one was in the underhood panel while the other was in the dash fuse panel. It's not uncommon to blow a brake light fuse [LR and RR] if you tow a trailer but some of these had seperate fuses for the trailer lights also. If you have a test light check both sides of the two fuses for power [ignition key on] while stepping on the brakes. It should at lest narrow your search a bit.

Lower brake lights no longer work on my 2002 chevy tahoe but the 3rd brake light works fine. Checked fuse and bulbs and everything works fine. Just the 2 lower brake lights dont work.

Most of the time the problem is in the turn signal switch. The third brake light circuit bypasses the turn signals.
Someone would need to check brake light power in and out of the turn signal switch.

My break lights dont work.fuzes and bulbs are ok ?

For starters it is spelled "Brake" light...LOL . Sounbds like you may have a brake light switch that has gone out. In yor owners manual does it show more than one fuse for the brake lights? Most vehicles with a thrid/highmount brake light split the brake light power to either the left and third brake light and the right brake light or vice versa, or posibble 3rd brake light on its own fuse. I would check if all of the brake light including the 3rd brake light dont work. If no lights work at all it leans toward the switch which controls all or them to activate hence the brake light switch. It should be mounted on your brake peal arm or to the main base. The pedal lever activate the switch when you depress the brake pedal.

Main brake lights dont work The third light over window does

You have a ground problem somewhere, do you have a towing light set up on the rear of the vehicle? Check all your ground wires. Also remove the center piece from around the steering column and see if any of the wires from the turn signal switch have come lose or pulled out. The turn signal switch has wiring that goes to the brake light switch. You may have to replace the switch because it may have a internal problem which is a commen problem. They actually call it a multi function switch and you can purchase at most parts stores. There is small holes in the bottom half of the cover that you will need to remove to get the cover off. Usually phillips or torx screws.. they sell torx screw drivers just ask for the 2 most common sizes.Hope this helps leave comment getting tired of answering and not getting results.

Main brake lights not working, third light works, turn signals work, all fuses are good, what could be the problem? 02 Olds Bravada.

Most likley the brake light switch. It has 2 different sides. One for the third brake light and one for the lower brake lights. It is inexpensive and can be changed easily. Good Luck
