It sounds as if the mounts or trans/engine mounting hardware is becoming loose...Unless the engine is out of timing and running rough ....Take it to the tech that repaired the mounts and have them inspect their work.......

This could be serious First look & listen to the engine with the hood up to find anything loose like the fan, serpentine belt etc. Also get under the vehicle and look at the universal joints. Unfortunately, from your description, it sounds more like the auto or transfer case. With luck, it may just be the linkage but get it checked before something really serious occurs. Could be several things but the most likely is a stretched drive chain inside the transfer case - not a job for an amateur. To change just the chain inside the box is a pig of a job, but getting the case out and back is a 5-6 hour job and requires a hoist and hydraulic engine/gearbox lifter

your engine mounts are broken plus your trans is going out

Check the engine and transmission mounts. While under the car, check the u'joints and driveshaft center support.

Take it to another dealer and see if they can figure it out for you. Obviously that dealership is full of idiots that don't have the time for your concerns. I wish I could help you out but, explaining a thumping noise is hard to do if your not there to actually hear it for yourself. I wish you luck and hope it is still under factory warranty.

sounds like you need your transfer case looked at and repaired.....that the only thing i can think of...hope it helps :)
