2010 Chevy equinox shifter in park but light says the car is in reverse

Probably the transmission internal mode switch . But , without hooking up a scan tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes an checking input data from the switch to the TCM - transmission control module i'd only be guessing . You don't want to waste money just replacing part's . Have a qualified repair shop check it out. Need factory service info an professional type scan tool .

Circuit/System Description
The transmission manual shift shaft switch assembly, also known as the Internal Mode Switch (IMS), is a sliding contact switch attached to the manual shift shaft inside the transmission case. The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Switch is integrated into the IMS and connects to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) lead-frame through a short wire harness. The 5 inputs to the TCM from the transmission manual shift shaft switch assembly indicate the transmission gear selector lever position. This information is used for engine start enable, engine controls as well as determining the transmission shift patterns. The state of each input is available for display on the scan tool. The five input parameters represented are Signal A, Signal B, Signal C, Signal P (Parity), and Signal N (Park/Neutral Start Signal). Park/Neutral Signal is sent from the Park/Neutral switch directly to the Engine Control Module (ECM) and is used for engine start enable. The Park/Neutral Signal circuit is not connected to the TCM internally. The circuit uses the TCM as a pass-through connector only. The ECM Park/Neutral diagnostic monitors the Park/Neutral signal circuit to detect low voltage when the ECM expects high voltage and high voltage when the ECM expects low voltage.

I checked the tcm and found a P1819 code, on this 06 Buick Lucerne. What needs to be done?

Check the condition of the plug on your neutral safety switch or otherwise called the transmission range sensor. It is on top of your transmission where the shifter cable is connected.

2004 buick century showing code P1819. Can anyone help me on repair. Not sure were to begin

Here's the code definition: P1819 Internal Mode Switch - No Start/Wrong Range = PCM, TCM

The generic version of this code is: P1819 Transmission Neutral Safety Switch Short Circuit To Ground

Possible a ground is not on or the round plug that plugs into the transmission got knocked out of place or isn't connected fully/corroded.

The neutral switch is on the inside of the transmissions on these cars.

Codes 1826, 1825 and 1819. Car wont start. Do we need to remove trans to reset? Trans was used.

DTC P1819
Internal Mode Switch-No Start/Wrong Range

DTC P1825
Internal Mode Switch - Invalid Range

DTC P1826
Internal Mode Switch C Circuit High Voltage

The transmission internal mode switch (IMS) is a sliding contact switch attached to the selector detent inside the transmission side cover. The four inputs to the PCM indicate the position of the transmission range selector. The input voltage level at the PCM is high (B+) when the IMS is open and low when the switch is closed to ground. The four input parameters represented are Signals A, B, C and P (Parity). Refer to Transmission Internal Mode Switch Logic

Install a Scan Tool . A professional scan tool !
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Important: Before clearing the DTC, use the Scan Tool in order to record the Freeze Frame and Failure Records. Using the Clear Info function erases the Freeze Frame and Failure Records from the PCM.
Record the DTC Freeze Frame and Failure Records.
Clear the DTC.
Select IMS on the Scan Tool .
Place the gear select lever in PARK range, then move to NEUTRAL range.
Does each range selected match the Scan Tool IMS display?
.Replace the lever assembly-manual shaft detent with internal mode switch.
Refer to Transmission Overhaul in the 4T65-E Section of the Transmission Unit Repair Manual.

Cadillac escalade transmission problem TFP switch trouble code and how to fix the delay shifting my car is cadillac escalde 2008

Transmission fluid pressure switches, i would say you have internal transmission problems, weak pump or internal leakage but to have four bad pressure switches is very very unheard off, i would have a transmission shop check it and maybe do a pressure test and leak test. it sounds like it may be time for a rebuild on that transmission.

I bought a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse and the check engine light came on we hooked up the machine to diagnos it and we got 2 codes po700 and p1784 . we are wondering what the codes mean and how to fix the...

DTC 1784: LOW-REVERSE PRESSURE SWITCH
1.Remove transaxle relay from connector. Turn ignition on. Install scan tool and observe low-reverse pressure switch condition. Apply battery voltage to transaxle relay connector terminal No. 8. If low-reverse pressure switch stays off, go to next step. If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, go to step 4 .

2.Raise vehicle enough to allow drive wheels to spin freely. Test low-reverse clutch hydraulic pressure. See HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS under TESTING. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is not within specification, internal transaxle failure exists. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is within specification, observe scan tool.

3.If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, trouble code is intermittent. Check wire harnesses and connectors for damage or poor connection. If low-reverse pressure switch does not turn on, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

4.Check and repair wiring harness between transaxle relay connector and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connector. If wiring harness is okay, check wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly.

5.If wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly is okay, check TCM and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connectors. Repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

P0700-The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transmission control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transmission controls.

I would try disconnecting he battery and letting it sit for 5 minutes, then hook it back up to see if they return-the 700 code is probably related to the 1784 code, that seems to be your main issue.

2009 Silverado 2500 HD hard to start after filling with last fuel fill. Idles very rough, but runs fine at top speeds. Very rough at idle in gear.

you should first test the computer system for trouble codes.you may have overfilled the gas tank and flooded the carbon canister that holds the gas fumes from the tank, i would look for trouble codes first though,as filling the tank and the problem ocurring after that may only be coinsidental, this would be hard for you to diagnos anyway.
