Your car won't start till it is in park. If the button isn't working than take apart your shifter and put it in park

SOURCE: 2004 lincoln navigator gear shifter locked

Make sure that you have brake lights. It has a shifter interlock solenoid in the console that is activated when ever the brake lamps are on.

SOURCE: shifter knob broke and pulled up on 2004 Lincoln Aviator

Same problem. $800 quote from Dealer for a small plastic part that broke because of terrible design. Nice work Ford. They should be ashamed.

2004 gmc envoy. key wont turn in the ignition, wheel is not locked shifter wont move, and brakes are very stiff. looks like key wasn't all the way in off postion when removed

The lock cylinder may be jammed and will probably need to be pulled and fixed or replaced. Excessive wear over time with the pins in the cylinder can cause this, particularly with older vehicles.

My 2004 Santa Fe will not start steering wheel will not lock I wonder if that's the problem just started yesterday.

The wheel (all theft and safety) locks are connected to other components. They are on shifter, brake, and steering wheel. Try putting vehicle in neutral and with foot on brake see if it will start like that. It may just be a little off for wheel, brake, and shifter to mesh and lock up. They all have a say in how it goes. If vehicle is on hill of any kind it can keep locks from going, if wheel is turned to odd spot, or lock from shifter is off, they can all keep system from locking up. Would guess that it is not starting because one of the neutral safety switches is not engaged and wheel lock is kind of a side affect of this also. If you can take key out of ignition but wheel is not locked there is clearly an issue with the lock up system. But the wheel lock points are not at every inch of wheel turn. Sometimes you turn vehicle off with wheel at a point a little off from one of the holes and you just turn wheel a bit and lock will engage. But try starting in neutral - try moving shifter all the way back and then into park (with brake pushed) and see if they will get back in sync. You may have to push / roll vehicle a little to get weight off shifter and wheel, but if shifter moves from park with no brake, or key comes out with no wheel lock (or with shifter not in park) something in the 3 way lock system has come out of sync.

My 2004 Lincoln Navigator wont shift into gear. Whats the problem?

Check the solenoid mechanism on the shifter to check that it is disengaging the shift lock mechanism when the brake switch and ignition are on.

Camshaft sensor p0320 replaced

What are the problems?
The codes you get,do not mean there is a problem with an item shown for that code, just that it is out of range for a period of time.
I doubt you have cam sensor issues.
Misfire and bad COP Ignition Coils are common on Fords. You also get several, not so related codes, sometimes.
Not very many people can work on todays vehicles, without knowledge of the systems and the proper test equipment. Too many people throwing parts at their vehicle ,in an effort to fix and save money. It is costing a lot when you guess wrong, which is most of the time.

1997 Lincoln Towncar. Shifter stuck in park

There is a switch mounted on the arm of the brake pedal (under a plastic cover held on with 3 plastic push-pins). There is an electical connection attached to this switch. In my case one of the wires had broken and was not supplying electricity to the switch. By fixing the broken wire it allowed the shifter to properly move and got the brake lights working again.
