SOURCE: spark plugs

You have to remove the intake (and the manifold) just to get to them. They are on the engine like every other car but access is trying because you can't even see them until you start removing the above items. If you still aren't sure where all of this is, follow the plug wires from the coil pack to the plugs. If it does not have wires, it will have individual coils on top of each plug. Unbolt each coil and pull it up. The plug is under it. On your V6, they should be located on the side.
This is very tricky on this vehicle. It is, of course, recommended to take it to a shop. Some special tools may be required.

Mazda Tribute engine compressio ratio

Compression loss is usually down to a leak from one of 4 main areas. Badly fitted spark plugs, blown head gasket, valves not seating correctly or an issue with piston rings.
A simple start point to check for a blown head gasket is to check the oil filler hole and the coolant expansion tank. These signs are Not always there especially if you have found the problem quickly. If the gasket has gone sometimes you will find oil floating in the coolant tank. There could also possibly be a 'mayonnaise' like build up in the oil filler hole where the coolant has mixed with the oil.

01 mazda tribute has intermittent miss, no CEL, what else can I try?

does the spark tester test for spark or the strength of the coil? an over the plug coil should be able to jump a 40kv gap on a gap spark tester. since the misfire is intermittent then it may not set a misfire code, but it will show a failure record in mode6 of the scan tool on test 53.

Where are the spark plugs located in an 2002 Mazda tribute

On a Mazda Tribute you must remove the plastic engine cover. Once that is removed you should see the spark plugs. They will be on the top of the engine with caps on them. you must undo the cap and remove it on each spark plug to have access to the spark plug.
