If we can't trust mechanics, then "there will be no old cars."
(imagine, that, only new cars run,,, never old......imagine that)
the car is old, 23 years old.
most old cars come in to the shop and there are 10 major issues
not ever corrected. the owners don't want them fixed so we send them away,
find a good ASE shop,. no ASE shop needs to lie to you or cheat you
they are pros. and as such do not need to cheat you as they will be
fantastically successful just being honest ( a shock , huh )

we can not feel your throttle cable here in the internet cloud.
but if the cable sticks, and is stuck at near wide open throttle
the engine fuel system is cut. this is a FEATURE. to unflood engines.
(operators guide (lost) explains this)
why not get the car inspected,
and do expect there will be many problems on any 23 year car
this is true with all machines that old. not just yours. its called,
entropy. in the end , its all just a rust pile..
yours truly , mr. sleazy mechanic

Why my car drive but when I press had ain't no power and car starts jerking

There are a lot of reasons that a car will jerk Could be a fuel problem or an electrical/sensor problem or a mechanical problem. We will need additional information to help you find your problem. What type of vehicle, when does this jerk happen, what speed, turning, slowing down, speeding up stopping or starting to go things like that. You might just stop at a auto garage and ask some questions. to get an idea.

Car speed slows down and speeds up runs a little rough when speeding back up it does a jerk.

Dear Debbie,
Fuel filter costs about $ 20 plus installation, catalytic converter about $100 up to $ 600 plus installation..
Go for the fuel filter first.
If it is not that, do a diagnostic check before you do the catalytic converter.
The "cat" seldom is the problem.
God bless your efforts.

My car wont start

Looks to me like dirt in the fuel pipes. A bad fuel pump or even air in the fuel pipes. If you recently came with an empty fuel tank, this could have caused dirt came in the rules system. Check if fuel is coming to the Carburettor / fuel injection

2002 Honda Accord - slow engine start and jerking

Most likely a dirty idle speed control system follow the guidelines below to clean it.

Throttle Body Cleaning on vehicles without electronic throttle control (most 2003 and down)

You can in most cases repair this slow speed stall or unstable idle by cleaning the engine throttle valve and the idle speed control valve using a product called CRC Spray Throttle valve cleaner. Spray the cleaner into the air intake of the engine with the hose removed from the throttle body, the engine will try to stall so hold up the idle speed manually. Once you have used up about 1/2 can of the cleaner stall the engine out while spraying and turn the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnect and drive the car for a about 25 miles of varied driving modes. If this doesn't cure the problem you may need the fuel injectors professionally cleaned by the dealer service dept.
