Who told you to floor it to start? Not even a carbie one start like that. Just crank it and it will start otherwise you floor the engine with too much fuel it wont start.

Have a 2001 suzuki swift, sometimes when starting just turns over without starting, 5 mins later starts first time, week later wont start without bump start. 2 days later wont start, then 10 mins later...

check fuel pump maybe bad pump or connection

If the voltage of the battery is to low, the starter will be prevented by the computer from engaging. Charge the battery and try again.

Saturn starting promblem.

Had same problem with 6cyl. merc.
Started fine cold but wouldn't start when turned off hot.
Replaced spark plugs & worn dist. cap .Problem solved.
