Replace rear side marker lights

I've replaced the front side marker lens on my vette by going through the wheel well. Having trouble getting through the wheel well to replace the rear lens. Do I have to take the tires off to accomplish this or is there a easier way in doing this. I'm replacing the "black out" lens that came with the car to OEM lens. Help?

SOURCE: how to change front driver side 2004 g35 coupe marker light

Just pop out the side marker from where the marker meets the fender well and push outward on the side marker. It has a metal clip retaining it to the bumper.

This entry was in January, most likely you figured it out already.

Remove 3 - 4 screws on fender cover close to side marker light. Pull fender cover out a bit for you to use your other hand to reach side marker light. By twisting on one direction and here you go the light out. Replace new bulb and replace everything on reverse order.

How to change the driver's side front marker light, on a 1998 LX 470. How is it accessed in front of the battery? With the least effort and force.

There is a plastic tab that a screw goes through. Into the top corner of the headlight, closest to the front marker light. If the screw and or tab is missing, it was broken off at some point. There are three points on the backside of the marker light lens. That hold and secure the fixture. With firm pressure you must pull the marker light lens straight forward, out of its fixed position. Plastic trim removal tools make removal easier. You can pry on the rear edge of the lens without damaging the paint on the fender or the lens itself. I could not find a video for your specific model but I found a similar model with the same removal procedure.

  • Turn the engine off and approach the side of the porsch with the burn-out side-marker light. If you are replacing both, start at either side; the replacement procedure is the same.
  • 2 Remove the screws from the plastic fender liner. Peel back the liner to access the area behind the fender.
  • 3 Reach your hand inside to gain access to the side-marker light's backing. Push the backing forward to release the side-marker lens; it's held in place by small clips.
  • 4 Grab the lens on the outer side and turn it over to access the back. Gently turn the bulb to release it from the plastic lens.
  • 5 Pull the bulb straight out to remove it from the electrical socket. Insert a new bulb, but do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your hand.
  • 6 Push the new bulb into the side-marker lens. Turn it clockwise to install it. Push the side-marker lens back into place. Apply gentle pressure to the lens to pop it back into its mount.
  • 7 Replace the screws along the edge of the fender liner.

How to install front & rear side marker lights on a lexus is 300

Accessing a Lexus Side Marker LightIt's actually not as difficult as it seems.
Look in the fender liner area (where the wheel wheel is) and you will see the screws that hold the liner in place.
Once you remove the bottom screws (or be it the screws that hold the edges of the fender liner), you can carefully pull it back a bit to expose the bulb and socket. To remove the socket turn it counter clockwise until you can pull it out. To reinstall the socket turn it clockwise until it locks in place
Carefully remove the bulb from the socket and replace with same type. To remove the bulb pull it straight out. Push the new bulb straight in. The bulb is a 194 5w bulb.
Note: most of the time the reason the bulbs are burning out in the bumper is due to water getting in behind the lens and not being able to drain.
What I have done is use a Dremmel tool to carfully drill a very small hole along the bottom of the lens to allow the water to drain. Another option is if you have clear silicone you can suirt some around the outside of the lens. This will prevent water from getting in. However, if there is already water in the lens you will have to drain the water first. To drain the water use a ratchet wrench and unscrew the nut that holds the lens to the bumper.
In severe cases of corroded sockets you might have to replace the socket where the bulb goes into.

    Front side marker

Under the hood on the backside of the light lens there is a ring with a wire in it. You must unscrew the ring and replace the bulb there. Now it will be a little difficult to get your hand in there but this is the only way to replace the bulb.
