Toyota rav4 1998 Fuses in kick panel has not power to them, why

I added a new battery and now my car will crank,, but it will not shift. no power to turn lights, stop light, radio, cigarite liter. I do not think I have power to fuses in the kick panel on the driver side. Why. The ceiling light works and headlights. It will not change out of park. Nothings seems to work except the fact it turns on and runs. There apperars to be a fuse out somewhere, but where?

If you replace your battery and still no power check your fuses, for sure there is a busted one.

SOURCE: no brake lights, fuses keep blowing and wont shift out of park

I would look for a wiring short in the trunk at the taillamp area, or, inspect the sockets for the taillamp bulbs for corrosion. In any case, you have a short circuit in the trunk area, also check the wire that comes from the body & goes up the trunk hinge on the driver side; that wire may be chafed, and it may be shorting out. Hope this helps; please get back to me if you need any further assistance.

I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla LE no power to certain fuses and circuit fuses are good car cranks but won't start

double posted and tests DONE WRONG
the battery must not be dead is first
and not testing fuse, with KEY on,
1;/2 the fuses are dead KEY off that is 100% Normal.
key on does IP cluster glow lamps as it did just like it did for 13 years?
head lamps bright key on an off both, (it must)
heater blower on high, works loud ,key on,
is the starter motor dead/? called cranking,?????????????

you said new crank , I'm sure you meant a new starter motor>?
is the starter dead? now? if yes post how to test a dead starter.
starters fail in many ways.
  • dead
  • chatters.
  • clicks,
  • makes a HUGE nasty loud bang, (engine or it seized)
  • or starter spins fast (sounds like sewing machined) but engine cranks shaft never spins (turns ) starter pinon failure.
or starter goes GRRRRRGRRRRRR and crank shaft spins but does not start.(seen and heard)

a dead starter with a good battery (charged) may crank
if you learn to crank it in NEUTRAL. (auto tranny?)
does starter work , JUMPER cable jump started?????
crank in park then try Neutral.
on stick shift cars the clutch switch bad kills cranking.

1978 Toyota Corona, manual trans has lost all power except headlights. All fuses intact, new battery but no power and or course no start. Starter motor has been tested and works. Any suggestions?

Question edited for clarity.

Put headlights on. Stand in front of the car. Have someone try to start. Do the headlights dim to a yellow glow worm? Put the battery onto a charger anyway.

Check all the fuses, especially the big red on on the battery lead if it has one. My Toyota does. Unusual vehicle and never seen one here in North America.

Check the harness bulkhead connector at the firewall. If you have been driving in deep water, you will get corrosion here. This connector is where power enters the cab (kickpanel fuse block). Use conductive grease at connector after cleaning the pins

Hooked up battery wrong and blew the fusible link. Replaced the link. now car starts but alternator not putting out and the left kick panel fuses are dead. any ideas on how to fix would be greatly...

May have blown some fuses under the hood. Check for an alternator maxi fuse, also a fuse that sends power to the fuse panel, or that might be another fusible link for the panel. You may need the alternator tested, might have ruined that, also.

Look in your owner manual for the 3 fuse box locations. It is similar to our Lincoln LS.

From LS owner manual.

There is a 175 amp mega fuse in the wire harness near the luggage compartment fuse box. In circuit with Red/Blue wire.

Front power distribution box

The front power distribution box is

The power distribution box contains

Car wont start, put in new battery new terminals check fuses. have lights but it dosent kick over

If it is an automatic, try starting in Neutral. If that works than it is a bad Neutral start switch-- which is located in the transmission shift lever.
If it is a stick shift than it could be the clutch switch, whish is located on the clutch pedal.
Or if all that does not make a difference, check the starter relay, located in the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment.
If the relay is good than you are left with abad starter.

1992 Toyota Camry won't crank

Check the ground cable going from the battery to
alternator, then to chassis. Make sure there is no
rust at the chassis ground wire terminal, and that it
is very tight. The fusible link will be off the alternator
red power cable, usually, but not 100% on that car.
Good luck.

Where are the fuses located inside the 91 Toyota Camry?

There are three fuse panels. The passenger side fuse box is right behind the passenger side kick panel. The main fuse and relay block is near the battery in the engine compartment. The Instrument panel fuse box is on the left side of the steering column on the dashboard.
