Most resistor blocks bolt to the fan housing, be causes its air cooled
and must be near fan actual so it always is cooled. see?
i just looked, its there. dead center blower case.(fsm book)
alldata.com
log in and read the HVAC pages.
if fan fails on high too, its not the resistor, because on high
it bypassed.
ah but not if the thermofuse in the resistor block is blown

I have a 99 dodge durango 5.9 there is barely any air coming out of any of my front vents. rear vents ok can feel it out the floor and defrost just not the ones on the dash.

The Dodge Durangos are known for blower motor problems. The blower motor is under the glove compartment/dash in the big black box, and so is the evaporator coil. There is a outside air filter that tends to wear out and break apart. Once this material breaks apart it ends up in the blower motor and can cause the motor to stop turning, or turn slower than normal. You will need to open the blower motor compartment under the dash and clean out any obstructions/trash and check the motor if it spins freely without much resistance. If it resists turning by hand or there is no trash and it still fails to work, you will need to replace this blower motor.

If the motor spins freely and there is no trash, you may just have a bad blower motor resistor or A/C control switch/panel.

2002 dodge durango front blower not working? can not locate a relay or fuse. read that there is a switch under passanger side, is it the size of a credit card?

sounds like a blower motor resistor. It is located on thr passenger side, about where the passengers toes would be. It is held there by two 8mm screws. But slide the red tab toward the driver, press the black tab and remove wiring harness. then remove screws with a 1/4 inch ratchet and a 7mm or 8mm socket. Replace old resistor with new. Attach harness. BE CAREFUL these things get hot which is why they burn up so fast. Wait at least 30 minutes after driving before working on it. If you have any problems replacing, go to YAHOO and type in "Replacing a Dodge Durango Blower Motor Resistor" Good Luck and Hopes this helps!

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Fan Motor Resistor Location

I've never seen a vehicle w/o a blower resistor. You don't need to remove the blower. The resistor is about 2 inches x 3 inches and is installed in a hole in the plenum (duct) near the blower motor. It will have a wiring harness connected to it. It could be under the passenger dash or under the hood, depending on where the blower motor is.
