Locate the blower motor resistor on a 1999 dodge durango

I think the front resistor is right at the base of the windsheild under the cowl ...take off wipers, cowl. and underneath you should see an access

The Dodge Durangos are known for blower motor problems. The blower motor is under the glove compartment/dash in the big black box, and so is the evaporator coil. There is a outside air filter that tends to wear out and break apart. Once this material breaks apart it ends up in the blower motor and can cause the motor to stop turning, or turn slower than normal. You will need to open the blower motor compartment under the dash and clean out any obstructions/trash and check the motor if it spins freely without much resistance. If it resists turning by hand or there is no trash and it still fails to work, you will need to replace this blower motor.

If the motor spins freely and there is no trash, you may just have a bad blower motor resistor or A/C control switch/panel.

the front blower motor located near the resistor has to be replaced a bad motor can cause the resistor to burn out draws to much amperage you wont need to replace the resistor again

you need a blower motor resistor not a relay

sounds like a blower motor resistor.It is located on thr passenger side, about where the passengers toes would be. It is held there by two 8mm screws.But slide the red tab toward the driver, press the black tab and remove wiring harness. then remove screws with a 1/4 inch ratchet and a 7mm or 8mm socket. Replace old resistor with new. Attach harness. BE CAREFUL these things get hot which is why they burn up so fast. Wait at least 30 minutes after driving before working on it. I've never seen a vehicle w/o a blower resistor. You don't need to remove the blower. The resistor is about 2 inches x 3 inches and is installed in a hole in the plenum (duct) near the blower motor. It will have a wiring harness connected to it. It could be under the passenger dash or under the hood, depending on where the blower motor is.

I would have to say the resistor also. Cheap part and the labor is free when you do it yourself. It should be located behind your glovebox.

2003 Dodge durango, the blower motor stoppped came back on and stopped again and never came back on. I replaced the blower motor and still no air. Can anyone help?
