SOURCE: How to replace left inner tirerod (Special tools?)

To make it easier, when you stop at autoparts store, ask for a "crowsfoot wrench'" to fit the new inner tie rod. Should be able to get it in 3/8' or 1/2 " drive to fit ratchet. It's basically the end of an open end wrench, with square drive for ratchet to fit into.

SOURCE: 300M 2005 FRONT TIE ROD BROKEN HELP (ONLY 19,000 MILES)

I use to work at a chrysler dealership and worked on these cars all the time, it was an ongoing problem because the tie rods were designed like **** (unservicable) they are not hard to change though. you can do it yourself you just need to count or mark the threads when you remove it so that your alignment (steeering adjustment) does not change. Or find a local guy, you might find someone on craigslist, people are hungry for work and will work for their money. also if you get the part aftermarket rather than the from the dealer the part is cheaper. dealers jack up the part price 20% - 60%. try partstrain.com or similar sites.. also search coupon codes on the net when your ready to order, often sides like this offer 10 buck or a percentage off.. itll be worth the time. good luck.

SOURCE: Changing inner tie rods on 2005 Chrysler 300c

yes. If the rack is not held ,when you try to turn the rod you could bend the rack. With the pin out it doesn't take much to hold the rack, loosen the end with the rack "turned " so the rack is retracted into the housing, not sticking way out .

Question 2 parts-- 1--what do ball joint or wheel bearings cost to fix on a 2005 pacifica tourning with 69500 miles on it..2--same with inner or outer tie rods to fix. thank you.

It shouldn't need either with only 69k. Odds are you have a break system problem. Check that first at a competent brake shop or your dealer. Brakes are an important safty system and repair should not be delayed.

Has a shake in the front end shakes then stops then shakes again only at hwy speeds around 70 mph

Looseness in the front end or a tread separation in the tire. This is extreme but you get the idea if there is a bulge near the side of the tire even a tiny one

Noise when turning the wheel fully to the left or right.sounds like grinding.

check the inside of the wheel to see if it rubs on tie-rod ends and the tires for wear and tear. also verify what size of tires are recommended, too big the tires will rub on the inside of the fender

Estimate for new battery tire rod repair and 4 new tires for the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

The tie rods are part of the steering system not connected to the battery. If you have an estimate from a shop it should show a battery on a different line than a tie rod or tie rod end. Tires vary greatly in price depending on size, use and brand. Many tire dealer websites hae do-it-yourself tire pricing allowing you to choose different options.

If Its not a wheel alignment then what is it?

THE APPLICATION OF FORCE WITH A LONG BAR TO THE SUSPENSION WHILE IT IS JUST LIFTED OFF THE GROUND WILL SHOW ANY "MOVEMENT" IN THE TIE RODS OR BALL JOINTS.

VANS HAVE A LOT OF "TOE IN" WHICH PLOWS THE VEHICLE DOWN THE ROAD MAKING TIRE WEAR ON THE OUTER EDGES. YOU COULD BE FEELING THIS AND SWAPPING THE TIRES REAR TO FRONT WILL HELP.

I FOUND LESS TOE IN MADE MY VAN A LITTLE "SKIDDISH" BUT SAVED THE TIRES.
