DodgeDakotas dot com has a lot of postngs about water under the Dakota's passenger side carpeting. My own 2005 is leaking, too. Main culprits to check: AC drain tube @ firewall (I think that some Dakotas had to have a 90-degree tube added to the outside end so that water wouldn't blow back into the cab. Great desing, Dodge. Rear window seal; Along the right-side window/roof pillar; the gromment in the passenger side door for a wire pathway. Sounds like some get this fixed under warranty - others meet w. resistance. Did you have the windshield replaced recently? This is typically caused by faulty installation of a windshield. Sometimes it can be fixed by adding windshield sealant (polyurethene, not silicone) where the windshield is adhered to the subframe - most likely along the bottom edge.

Based on our research the RAV4s with wet floors are usually, but not always, clogged sunroof drains or drain outlets. Other RAV4 owners found that the body trim surrounding their windshield or even the fender panel had degraded and failed, allowing water to seep in during heavy rain.

Don A has an excellent answer, but if you have a sunroof, that is more likely the reason. The pipe runs down between the door pillar and the windshield and there is often a join there which can part. Be careful with compressed air as it can blow joints apart.

Sounds like the windshield is leaking. Run water over the windshield and have someone get inside car and look for the leak. Alternatively take it to a reputable windshield repair shop and have them check it.
Someone in the car watching for leak, someone outside the car with a hose.. Gently apply water to the door area and person inside looks for the leak... Another possibilty. If the water is comning from under the car it can be a rusted place or a body separaion.. harder to find. It can be comning in from around the windheild seal and running down the interior firewall. This is how a shop would find the leak.. but they would charge you for it..
I had the same problem with a 1994 Taurus. Within the front fender was 10 years of pine needles and leaves blocking the drain backing the water up in and over the fire wall and into the front passenger seat floor. I took a LONG pair of needle nose pliers threw the passenger side door, and was able to remove enough debree. After pulling out out about 5 fist full's of yuck, 1 gallon a water that was stuck some where poured out flushing out the drain. I did the same on the drivers side. After that I had no problems with floods. I hope this helps. If not check your back door weather stripping if you have one. I have heard water leaking behind the passengers seatbelt and onto the floor from under the seat. Got to love Florida's rain season(s)
there may be some body rust around the window seal or in the air intake area, depending on your climate, condensation can sometimes drip of the AC system onto your feet
