How come blinkers wont work- 4 way flashers do?

I do not think the blinkers have a "right" and "left" fuse...Its usually a flasher/blinker relay.
Try replacing the bulbs.. make sure their sockets are clean and able to hold the bulbs tight. If you are not getting both right side blinkers to work and you know both bulbs are good, the switch in the column may be the culprit.

Sounds like a bad flasher relay.

There is only a few things that can cause blinkers to blink continually, meaning if your saying they wont shut off, Normally it is the blinker flasher or a fuse. Sometimes it can be in the blinker switch itself. I first would check the flasher, and turn signl fuse. If the blinker stays on and does not flash, still can be bad flasher or fuse or a ground problem, You would then have to check the wires around area where there contact to the tail light blinkers and front blinkers. But first start as said earlier with checking flasher fuse, switch and fuse. Mike

I would suggest that it could be the flasher as I had a similar thing happen on my motor cycle. If it does not work at least flashers are cheap.

try replacing the flasher, the flasher must come from the dealer most aftermarket flasher wont work in chryslers, start with the flasher.

the flasher and the blinkers are serpent elements of the bulb and also have serpent flashers if none of your blinkers flash when manually doing it chock flasher it is round and usually by the fuss box some times on top there is also one 4 the hazard lights be sure key is on

if the lights light but don't blink you have a bad flasher if the don't light at all try you 4 way flashers and if they don't work you need a multi-function switch that controls brake light and blinkers and 4 way flashers.

your flasher module has gone bad. on the new beetles, the hazard button is the flasher. you should be able to purchase on at your local dealer for around $25-$30. 

likely your flasher unit was failing or you had a bulb out somewhere. Flasher should be on right side of steering column under dash yours could be a "combination flasher" Older models had flashers on fuse box under dash on left side.

There are two thermal flashers one for the Hazard Warning Lights and one for the Turn signal lights. It could be the flasher for the turn signals.
