How can I keep my headlight up in an1999 chevy corvette so I can try to work on reaching the direction bulb

Did you replace the relay for the day time running lights which for some dumb reason is mounted under the front bumper? Climb under and look straight up and you should see it...mine was mounted in about the center (on the frame in front of the radiator. Sounds similar to an issue I had and it cleared up once I replaced the part...had to get from dealer still.

Check to see if there is a headlight relay and check all ground circuits to the lighting system. They are both powered from the same circuit.

How do I fix the head lights on a 1989 Chevy corvette ?
1st I'll need to know what the problem is with them exactly, won't flip up, headlight bulbs are not turning on but light carriages do flip into the up position?? What? What work have you done if any to try and repair whatever this problem is with the headlights? Throw me a bone here, I own a 1996 C4 now and have rebuilt another (84) from a rolling wreak. first see if you can reach behind the whole light and get to the connector, daytime running light is more towards the centre of the truck. if you can reach it, just turn it and pull the bulb out. if not then its either going to be bolts or long rods holding the light in place, remove those and then turn the connectors to expose the bulbs

How do you change the turn signal blub
Hello, I can help you with this. There are 3 different ways to change the bulb. Method 1 If you have skinny arms and small hands, (I can't do it this way but I've seen it done), you can push the brake cooling duct at the front bumper down and back and reach inside and grab the bulb socket from there. Method 2, MANUALLY raise the headlight about halfway up, ( don't use the switch, it will auto-close after 15 minutes and you don't want your hand caught when it lowers), and remove the headlight surround shroud, that will give you enough room to reach the turn signal bulb socket. Method 3, remove the plastic panel underneath the car directly below the turn signal and reach up. Whichever way you decide on just grab the socket and turn clockwise to loosen the socket.

C5 daylight running light and front directional does not work , but they work when the lights are on. strange.
Sounds like each bulb has 1 bad element. Unusual, but possible. Those bulbs are tricky to change but you can do it.
Turn your switch on and turn on the headlights. While they are still up, turn off the switch so that they will remain in the up or open position.
Next to each headlight assembly, you will see a rubber hood stop that can be easily removed with open ended wrench. With those stops off the car, it is a snap to reach down, next to the headlamps to the back of the parking lamp socket and remove it by turning conuter clockwise. Replace with the correct amber bulbs (available at any auto parts store) and your problem should be solved! Note.......be CERTAIN to check all fuses 1st. Good luck!

Changing front directioal signal bulb on 2000 corvette need free how to
Turn your ignition on and your headlights. Turn the key off and then the headlights. They should stay open. Open the hood. Remove the rubber 'bump stop' located next to the headlamp on the side that has the bad bulb. Be careful to not change the location of the lock nut.
Now you have a big opening that will allow you to reach down to the rear of the directional signal and remove the socket and bulb by turning counter clockwise. Replace the bulb. I like to put some dielectric compound or at least some vaseline on the base wires of the new bulb.
Test. Reverse procedure for reassembly. Congratulations....... you just saved $70.00!!! Dave

Can't replace 2005 Chevy Aveo headlight
You do not need to take the headlight assembly out. It is not a sealed beam. There is a ring that locks the light bulb in, found on the back. The drivers side is much easier if you remove the battery. As with all Halogen bulbs, do not touch the bulb with your fingers as it will shorten their life.
