Anytime that you get a code that isn't listed, it is usually a fault in the PCM.

SOURCE: ODB-II Trouble Code of 1151

P1151-Lack of HO2S-21 Switch, Sensor Indicates Lean
A Heated Exhaust Oxygen (HO2S) sensor indicating lean at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-rich condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.

A code P1151 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Electrical:

  • Short to VPWR in the harness or HO2S
  • Water in the harness connector
  • Open/shorted HO2S circuit
  • Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
  • Damaged HO2S
  • Damaged PCM
Fuel System:
  • Excessive fuel pressure
    Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
    Leaking fuel pressure regulator
Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
    Vapor recovery system
Induction System:
  • Air leaks after the MAF
  • Vacuum Leaks
PCV system:
  • Improperly seated engine oil dipstick
EGR System:
  • Leaking gasket
  • Stuck EGR valve
  • Leaking diaphragm or EVR
Base Engine:
  • Oil overfill
  • Cam Timing
  • Cylinder compression
  • Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)
Do you have any running or driveability problem, with this code usually you will not, check these things and makes repairs as necessary, not all of these will be wrong but at least one may be wrong, let me know what you find, hope this helps

SOURCE: i got a code p1747 electronic pressure control solonoid short circuit where is this located and will that cause my truck to throw all the shift solonoid codes

The solenoids are inside the transmission, if you are getting more than one code you may have a problem with the wiring harness going into the trans.

Trying to find a OBD l scanner for a 95 dodge Dakota for under a $100.00, or can I use a OBD ll scanner with an OBD l adapter and achieve the ability to read and clear codes?

An OBD2 scanner can sometimes read an odd OBD1 code but there is no consistency. The OBD2 system is designed to be universal but only as far as faults that can affect exhaust emissions - other faults on the OBD2 system and the OBD1 system are manufacturer/model specific and require either dedicated diagnostic equipment or some very comprehensive software.

How do I access the trouble codes on a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis without a scan tool?

You can access them by going to the link, some late 1995 vehicles were OBD2, then you would have a diagnostic connector under the dash below the steering wheel, otherwise you do it under the hood (OBD1). FORD 1983 1995 OBD1 Decoder

I have 2005 envoy 4.2L engine light with arrow pointing down and loses power all gauges are fine what is the problem

How long since a tune-up? Can you check for applicable trouble codes? To check codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader, that will check manufacturer specific codes as well as po codes.

Some of the national brand auto store will check codes for free. I don't know if they will check manufacturer specific codes? To quote some of my colleagues, if the info is free, it isn't worth much. Use your best judgement.

Is there a knock senser on a 1994 Mazda b3000. The code flashes 331

The engine in your B3000 may not be the original; I find no listing for that code, only these:

Look down the page for the only codes I found listed and they are all OBD1 prior to 1995.

Whats the symptoms of a bad cam sensor

The most obvious symptom would be a check engine light; however, since you have a vehicle with a manufacturer date before 1996, you don't have the more integrated and informative OBD2 plug. If you have a OBD1 code reader specific to Chrysler, then you may still be able to pull the trouble code.

Many vehicles will not even start if the camshaft sensor is reading incorrectly, as the vehicle would be unable to properly calibrate its engine timing.
