I have a 2004 Isuzu Axiom, my check engine light came on as i was on the interstate with my cruise control on. The cruise control stop working exactly the same time the engine light came on. I took it to...

You may have actually had a faulty MAP that needed replace. Thing is that any time you get a "check engine", the cruise will be disabled. you must clear the code, by either a trouble code diagnostic tool, or disconnect the battery for about five minutes. Codes will clear, and cruise will start working again.
