The car has had a few relay problems, mainly overheating, cooling fan not working, lights causing rev counter to die. Now, it won't start at all. I seem to be missing 2 relays, and have identified several more which do not work. I want to change these, but have no idea which Relay goes where as I am missing the Fuse Box panel which had the Relay position diagram on it. Can you tell me where I can find such a diagram or otherwise what to do next?

Have you double checked the electronic switch type thermistat mounted on the radiator that senses the temperature of the anti freeze. You can jumper around the switch while the car is started and the fan should start running (watch your fingers).

For 1998 VW Passat V6 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
The cigarette lighter fuse for 1998 VW Passat V6 is placed in the fuse box / relay plate fascia 1, (driver's door open). See pictures below:

Where is VW Passat 2003 year, 2.8L Motor Fuse panel

Hi!!
The Fuse Box on the passenger compartment is located on the driver' side end of the Instrument Panel. To remove the cover just insert a flat screwdriver or similar tool to pop the cover. See the following pictures.

Cant find fuse box in W8 2003 VW Passat any body have an idea? Tried passanger side were it should be but air bag is at that side! Regards John

VW never had their fuse boxes and relay panel at the passenger side. It's always where the instrument cluster is located. This would always be the case, doesn't matter if you live in a country with right hand drive or left hand drive, it is always situated where the instrument cluster is located. The reason is because all information that's vital to your vehicles operation is monitored through it's instrument cluster through warning lights (idiot lights). VWs designed it with this in mind "electric current diminishes the farther it has to travel from it's electrical source". Pry off the driver side cover if not mistaken.

Need relay location for 1999 vw passat 2.8 v6

relay 1 engine compartment
fascia 2 relay 18 (if it is diesel) relay 10 (diesel again) and this could likely be the best candidate relay 4 fuel pump relay/glow plug relay

Now for the fuse box locations ... looking from the front of the car... the engine compartment fuse box is on the left side up near the firewall.
fascia two is the lowest of the two fuse panels on the drivers side under the dash to the right of the steering column (left if it was a right hand drive).

This took about 15 minutes to locate all the possible fuses, be that as it may if i missed it don't hesitate to ask me again.
