14 The reservoir for the Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering (EPHS) is located on the front left-hand corner of the engine compartment. Note: On some models with a high capacity battery, the battery and tray must be removed in order to access the reservoir filler cap. The fluid level is checked with the dipstick attached to the reservoir filler cap. Unscrew the cap from the hydraulic fluid reservoir, and wipe clean the integral dipstick with a clean cloth (see illustration) .

My Polo 1.4 automatic gearbox doesn't shift gears while driving

Sorry for that. There quite many things that could lead to Gear shifting problem. Let me hope your vehicle is Automatic transmission system. I would like to know the last time you serviced the your car, did the technician change the transmission fluid or not? If the transmission fluid has not been changed for a longtime, you need to consider changing that transmission fluid and observe the behavior of you car after that and ensure that the level is appropriate.

What is the trasmition capacity of my vw.

When draining or replacing fluid in a transmission, if it is an automatic there is always residual fluid in the torque converter. In most cases, you will put in a quart of the proper transmission fluid so you do not burn out the pump. Then you will want to check it and periodically ad until full on the dipstick when the engine is hot and in park or neutral. When changing the fluid, it is always a good idea to change the filter also. In most cases, you will need to drop the pan to do this. So make sure you get a new gasket and filter as this is a good idea Also. Do not run the engine without sufficient fluid to prime the hydraulic pump and the transmission. Then just add to the correct level. Please excuse any spellcheck errors due to this phone. I am sure you will get the point.

May polo IS MIXING oil with water in the cooling system but the oil is clean, its does not mix with water. What could be the problem.

The oil that is in the cooling system may be Transmission fluid if you have an automatic transmission and the transmission cooler in internal to the radiator. Check your transmission oil for water contamination. If it is contaminated, you will probably have to rebuild the transmission and replace ALL of the transmission lines, and all rubber coolant hoses as the transmission fluid will eat the rubber hoses from the inside.

VO Polo 1.9 TDi jerking intermittently. Switched the car on this morning and the engine light is on as well as the car jerking all the time. Please help!!!

check the motor mounts. also check to make sure that its not miss firing. if its miss firing could be as simple as just needing a tune up. if engine light is on it is most likely misfiring and needs a tune up. if its jerking when you put it in gear this is a problem with the transmission. if its an automatic you may need to change the transmission fluid filter and gasket. if you can do this yourself it will run you about 40 bucks

Automatic transmission fluid vw polo

The dash lights are powered by the battery through the ignition switch via a fuse. Check the electric connections and conditions of the wires.

Change the transmission fluid to solve transmission issues. Original fluid is always preferable as it is specifically designed for the transmission.

How do i check the fluid levels in a vw polo 1998 automatic gearbox from a motor mechanic thats been out the game for a while

If you have an 01M 4spd automatic transmission which uses VAG part # G 052 162 A2 ATF only. I'll suggest buy the seal and filter kit from VW and uses 3.2qt when you replace the fluid. Topping off require a different procedure. A VAG 1552 Scan tool is required when correcting the ATF level measured by reading temperature of the fluid.
