SOURCE: How to replace headlights on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One long bolt at the top - requires a 7mm socket to remove the bolt. The light housing will pry out with a screw driver. There are three ball and socket type connectors that hold the housing in and I just pryed off the plastic housing carefully and "balls" pop out of the sockets. Finally, I was replacing the faded plastic housing and it came with a new wiring harness. It's impossible to reach the connector to use the new wiring harness that comes with the new plastic light housing. So just use the existing wiring harness with the new light assembly.

SOURCE: 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 liter engine timing belt replacement

If you have the same pulley arrangement that most 4.0 engines have that pulley is an idler not a tensioner. Your power steering pump has a pivot bolt, and a slide under the pump. You adjust belt tension using the pump.

SOURCE: how to change oil pressure sending unit on jeep

First things first do you have a repair manual? If you don't have one get one, Changing the unit is realitively simple, you just disconnect the battery, disconnect the oil pressure sending unit's electrical connector, remove the sending unit, now most sending units are small and look like a short chubby spark plug with an electrical blade connector on the end of it. simply use a wrench to loosin and remove and install by screwing in and tightening and reconnecting the electrical connecter then the battery and your as good as new!

Most common are valve cover gaskets worn out...especially the inline 6 cylinder...inspect the oil pressure sending unit located beside the oil filter...these are the most common and least costly fixes...Hope this helps.

Sound gets louder win in motion it has 243,000 miles.culd it be a rocker arm? it has good oil pressure. 2000 jeep grand cherokee laradoe straight 6 4.0 automatic 4x4 makes tapping sound? what should i...

What kind of sound? If it's a ticking sound from inside the valve cover it could be a bad rocker arm, worn lifter or lifter & cam lobe or broken valve spring (needs to be looked at). If the noise is deep and best heard at the oil pan. it could be a rod bearing or main beginning to go but generally, that lowers oil pressure. Another item that sounds nearly the same is a cracked flywheel. Careful listening can often unravel this or have a very experienced tech look at it....(still your choice on who does the repair).

What kind of oil does a jeep grand cherokee use

Regular 10W/30 should be OK. Synthetics or blends are better , but having CLEAN oil and doing regular changes and filter changes is the best way to keep your car running for a long time.

Whats the best engin oil to use for my 2000 jeep grand cherokee?

I recommend using a 10w or 20w 40 synthetic oil. Reason is without getting too technical, synthetics are more chemically stable under the harshest conditions and stay that way throughout their service life far longer than any organic lubricant. Check out noac volatility tests for tech info. I've been using syn for years and routinely get way over 300k from all my engines.
