SOURCE: 2002 2500 Silverado tailgate handle will not release catches

You will need to remove the trim piece the is under the release handle. Be carefull those things tend to break the little tabs that hold them on. Anyway pop (pry) it off with a screwdriver. Once it is off you can see that the little clips that hold the rods to the handle assy are broke. These clips are color coded. Most likely yellow or green. You might be able to get them at say Pep Boys or some place like that but they might make you buy an assortment package , then you get clips you will never use. Good luck, hope this is helpfull.

How to remove the center armrest console froma ford escape 2002 model

there are about 8 torx screws (very small) near the hinge of the lid. remove those and the lid will come to remove the entire console, there are bolts on the back of theconsole accesible from back seat, and on the side of the console. easiest way to acces those bolts would be to remove the front two seats. they are held in by two bolts in front and two nuts under plastic covers in the back. raise the emergency brake lever and the console will slide up and be removed.

How do you remove the armrest from the driver bucket seat from a 1994 chevrolet silverado, it does not have the clip from the backside like the newer chevrolets?

It is possible that the role pin to remove the armrest is hidden inside the zipper cover. I do not know this particular vehicle, but GM did that to some of the vans. Some also have to require the removal of the actual seat and turn counterclockwise to "unwind" the armrest. Good Luck, hope this may help.

Just got a 2002 trooper swb 2 door but i cant find the control switch for mirrors

Power mirror switches are usually located on the driver's door armrest forward of the power window and door lock switches, but some Troopers have this control mounted on the center console behind the shifter lever.

The center arm support will not open on my 1999 gmc sierra, you can push the button but the latch doesn't release. Any ideas on how to get it to release?

I have a 2001 silverado with the same problem. If you get on the passenger side and hit the lever with the side of your fist it should release. The only fix is to replace the whole center arm support so I just deal with mine like it is.

Tailgate latch on my 2002 silverado is stuck in closed postion

Remove the molding ring from around the handle. Becareful not to break the taps that lock it in. After removing the molding you should see the handle mechanism. There is a rod coming in from each side (each one runs out the the actual latch). Make sure each rod is connected into the handle assembly. If it is not put the rod into the hole and find the retainer clip to keep it in place.

    Faulty shift/ignition control?

Todd, Over time, shift linkages and cables tend to stretch or develop some "slack" in the system which can cause this type of problem. I would suggest readjusting the linkage and see if that takes care of the problem.
    1) On level ground, block the wheels to prevent rolling.
    2) Place the shift lever in neutral.
    3) Loosen fastener at transmission select lever and allow linkage to relax or find center.
    4) Turn key to start position to verify transmission is in neutral, engine should roll over, no need to start engine. Shut engine off if started.
5)Center linkage at transmission select lever and tighten fastener.
    6) Recheck Park position, readjust if necessary.
Good luck, let me know how it goes.
