SOURCE: 2000 honda ..... timing belt replacement

hi i have a diagram of it here and as far as i can see the marks on the twin cams are actually aligned with the top of the cover edge there should be an arrow on each cam pulley, that is pointing upwards, and you should have 2 marks either side horizontal and line up with the cover , the bottom crank pulley has a v cut out which lines up with a mark which is a angled line on the engine cover my picture may be different from your one if you want you can email me i will send you it so you compare it to your one

Can't find timing marks for crankshaft to replace timing belt.

All Honda engines, except the Civic 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 Vtec's and the CRv 2.0, will have the crankshaft mark that lines up with the gear key way.THESE, engines I noted for you, will have marks 1 - 2 teeth off to the right or left. Find the key way and look in this area for the mark.

Does the car turn over when you turn the key? If it is not turning over at all then it is not your time belt. You may have unplugged something like the starter wire.

I cant find my timing marks for my 1990 honda accord lx because the cover is slightly woren but are the timing marks on the cover or engraved in the metal? this is for the crank shaft.

The 1990-1993 accord timing marks are located in the space between the engine and transmission. There is a rectangular rubber plug, at the top, front of the transmission housing, that pulls out and the timing marks are visible(with a timing light) through that access hole.

Timing belt specification.

The 1.6l is an interference engine and if the timing belt let loose there is a good chance the pistons met the valves and bent them. I'm thinking that you have a compresson problem either caused by bent valves or having the camshaft out of time with the crank.this link seems to be the best description of where the marks need to be I hope it helps http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1042236&highlight=d16z6+timing+marks+

Need diagram showing timing adjustment for a 1992 honda accord 2.2 engine see no timing marks how do i set timing

Check the position of the timing marks. The timing pointer mustbe perfectly aligned with the TDC (white mark) on the flywheel orflex-plate; the camshaft pulley must be aligned so that the word UP isat the top of the pulley and the marks on the edge of the pulley arealigned with the surfaces of the head. Additionally, the face of thefront timing balancer pulley has a mark which must be aligned with thenotch on the oil pump body. This pulley is the one to the left crankwhen viewed from the pulley end.

Also, in here, 1994-Honda-Accord-Coupe-Section-01-Engine (page 47 and next / TDC marks) you can find referenece information about Accord Engine.

I need to know the timing marks for a 2002 honda civic 1.7 litre engine

There are 4 marks on the crank pulley. When standing on the driver side of the car looking down on the pulley, the mark farthest to the right is the mark for TDC (Top Dead Center). The three marks on the left are for the spark timing. Of these three the mark in the center should align with the arrows/triangles on the timing belt cover when the engine is running and a timing light is shining on the crank pulley. The outer two marks represent Honda's tolerances for the ignition timing. As you look at the cam pulley the correct mark is at 7 o'clock with the two other marks at 3 & 9 o'clock positions. make sure you have correc timing, honda have "O" tolerance when it come to piston and the valves meets. or stop by any auto part store they should have Hane's auto repair manuel for 20.00 buck, worth all the money with proper instruction including picture, great investment to have for the future repair. spend little money to make sure you do the right job. good luck!!
