It could be just a loose fan/drive belt on the pulley, or an alternator problem. Get someone to check with a multimeter.

May be a bad alternator, bad battery, or your serpentine belt is loose. go to autozone and let them do a load test on battery and alternator. additionally if sepentine belt tensioner is loose then you may need to buy another tensioner. all are real easy fixes

Chrysler battery charge light on
check the charging system and battery to make sure these are working properly. if the charging system is not working then the alternator will have to be check and possibly the PCM as the PCM controls charging voltage and the alternator continuously tries to run a max. check for a code in the PCM related to charging. this may help finding the problem.

Battery light stays on. Had the alternator checked and is fine. Have replaced the battery and checked the connections. What else could it be?
have the charging system checked out find out if its charging anything.this may have been why the battery light stays on.usually a bad battery won`t turn on the battery light as its used to let the driver know that the charging systems needs to be checked out.

the battery light would most likely indicate a charging system fault. it could be just a faulty ground in the instrument cluster. have the charging system checked.

the reverse lights are controlled by a switch that engages when the shift lever is moved to the reverse position. this could either be stuck in the on position or be grounded.

How long has the light been on? Although the battery is ok, it most likely means it is not charging. Take the suburban to a parts store for a free check of the system. They should be able to determine if the alternator not charging.
