Pull the emergency cable in the trunk on that side to open the gas door and then heavily spray WD40 into the pin latch that holds the gas door closed.Work it back and forth by pushing it in and out with finger until moving freely
I think you may have a problem with the drive shaft angle being to steep, check with a drive line shop for the correct angle, the make special wedge shaped shims to correct this problem.
