SOURCE: flushing the heater core

I removed the hoses and took a air nozzle at low pressure and blew in the return hose connection of the core. A big chunk of paste like substance shot out then pure liquid. I put the hoses back on and tested it. Now its blowing hot!!!!!!!

Heat not real hot until i rev engine

I had a 91 GMC 4.3 do the same thing. Liked to froze to ***** one winter. Found I had a air bubble (air lock) in the engine block and heater. It was a bear to get out. Finally installed back flush kit in the heater hose between engine and heater. Took cap off flush kit, pour coolant in through outlet till coolant ran through back to radiator. Replaced cap and started engine. Repeated again. Heater works as good as new. It's using the same principle as priming a gas powered water pump.

MY 2000 GMC SIERRA HEAT BLOWS WARM BUT NOT HOT SUPPLY HOSE IS HOT BUT RETURN HOSE IS JUST WARM. WHAT COULD IT BE

This could possibly be a block in your heater core or the thermostat may be going bad and not circulating the antifreeze the way it should once the engine has warmed up. Have you had your antifreeze system flushed? If its a 2000 then its 10 years old and the system should be flushed and refilled

Just cold air coming form heater. Motor is warm and hoses feel warm but no hot air in cab.

Might want to back flush the heater core, could have sediment build up witch in turn could be restricting the flow thru the core hense no heat.
