Electric windows windows stopped working after disconnecting battery

run a scanner on the system to determine codes to diagnos problem

Check the fuses for the lock and the window...

Try disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5 minutes and see if the body ontrol module resets. If that doesn't happen you will need to seek the assist of a Kia dealer service dept.

Take off the door panel and disconnect the two wire plug one is brown the other is orange. Take two jumper wires and run them to a battery. If it goes down then switch the wires on the battery and it will go up. If it does not move then the window motor is shot and will need to be replaced.

try the alternator

it is a bad idea to disconnect the battery of a running car. If the alternator is working it can destroy virtually any electric component that is on. Alot of shops and some auto parts stores offer free charging/starting system tests.(they sell more baterries and alternators)

there is no reset button but u can clear the computer for the car by disconnecting the battery for a min. or two

check your battery and make sure that your terminals are tightened down all the way

Check the fuses. There is a good chance you might have blown one or a few if you some how didnt connect the jumper correctly which would explain some of the accessories not working.
