You will have to make sure that you didnt tighten the hazard switch screw in while it was in the wrong position. IF that does not work, you will have pull the wheel of again and make sure that the turn signal assembly is not binding it.
There
is a recall on 1998-2002 Accords regarding defective ignition key
mechanicals. Try jiggling the transmission shifter on park, while trying
to extract the key, to make sure the shifter sensor (park) is allowing
the key to be retrieved. For what i have read, the recall failure works
the other way, it allows the key to be taken out on any gear, engine on
or off !!.
you can try using graphite powder in the ignition switch if you can remove the key,put the powder on the key & push it in & out to work the powder into the switch, don't use any spray type lubricants as this only attracts dust & clogs the switch up even more....hope this helps.....cheers
on the inside of the trim peice take a flathead screwdriver and gently work around the inside of the trim peice and if you find the right spots were the clips are it will just pop off.
it slides up ad down for adjustment. lossen the two bolts ,turn key to acc setting and slide the switch down until the radio works. tighten the bolts and try to to start. this might take several attemps
disconnect neg battery terminal -remove steering wheel will need a puller some auto stores let u borrow these tools -remove turn signal switch not necessary to totally remove switch pull far enough rearward to slip over shaft but dont pull harness out of column --turn key to run -remove the lock retaining screws dont drop into column -remove lock -screw torque is 40 inch lbs for reg column 22 for adjustable column
sounds like key tumbler broken internally , disconnect coil to stop engine and disconnect battery to stop battery drain til problem fixed, may have to jiggle key and tumbler til it releases key ,
Thats the problem I cant remove the top steering wheel cover because of the cover on the tumbler
