With almost all Ford products, the easiest way to find the correct fuse is with the owners manual for the vehicle. Ford does not identify what the fuses are for on the various fuse covers. You didn't specify which model Lincoln you have either. There is probably a similar Mercury or Ford car who's manual you could refer to, (Taurus/Sable for example). Also, are you certain it's a fuse for the cigarette lighter? There is usually something else on the same circuit, which would also not work. If you are plugging something in to the cigarette lighter and it won't work, that also has a fuse. If it's the cigarette lighter that won't work, it could be burned out, they don't last forever. To determine for sure if the problem is with the cigarette lighter port (also power point), use a test light or multimeter. Ground on side of outlet, positive in the exact center (usually looks like a rivet head), just be sure the leads do not touch each other or both center of port and outer barrel, or you will need a fuse for sure.

If you'd like to take the time to look at all the fuses and see which one is blown, that's the 1 needing replaced. Normally a cigarette lighter fuse is a 10 amp ( Red ) fuse.

SOURCE: Where is the fuse box

There are 3 fuse panels located on your vehicle. The first one is located in the right hand (passeneger side) kick panel (sorry I don't have a picture of its location). In that fuse panel in the number 32 position is the cigarette lighter fuse and should be a 20 amp fuse (picture of fuse layout I did have and is below). As far as the air conditioner, there is a couple of things you can check. In the front power distribution box located under the hood in the engine compartment (see picture below) in the number 1 position is a 10 amp fuse which handle the air condition clutch and other componants for the A/C (see picture of layout underneath location picture). Also in that same fuse panel in the relay 08 position is the relay for the clutch on the A/C compressor itself. The last fuse panel you have is located in the trunk of your car and is called the rear power distribution box (see picture of location of that below). Now i'm not sure but this may be what you are talking about when you say cigarette lighter but in the number 10 position in that box (yes another picture below that one for the layout) is the power point fuse for the console which should be a 20 amp fuse and also in that same panel in the number 12 position is a 20 amp fuse for the power point located in the ashtray. I mention those because they are the same shape as a cigarette lighter and wanted to be on the safe side just in case also the fact to let you know that there is a fuse panel back there. i hope this helps you and good luck.

I'm trying to find the fuse for my horn and car lighter looked in the fuse box but dont have it in there maybe another name or something

Looks like the horn is on a 15amp circuit - the fuse is marked HORN and its probably in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
The lighter may be on an accessory fuse.
If you have your owners manual look in the back of it.

Why did my radio and my cig. lighter stopped working?

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard "All fuses are OK" or "I already checked the fuse" or "I know it's not the fuse"....I'd be a rich man!

When cigarette lighters quit working, 99% of the time the fuse is blown because someting got plugged into it like a defective phone charger. The other 1% of the time, it is because the lighter element is burned out or somebody essed with the wires to the cigarette lighter trying to install some kind of aftermarket equipment.

Humor me and check Fuse #9 (20 Amp) in the passenger side fuse and relay box.

Cigarette lighter not working, no power to it, can you tell me where the fuse is located for it

The fuse for the cigarette lighter is located in the fuse box on the driver side of the car under the dash. It is a blue 15 amp fuse.
When you open this fuse box, you will see some larger relays with 4 rows of fuses below it. The fuse you are looking for is the first fuse in the 2nd row. in the 2002 X-type, that fuse is a little taller than the other ones.

Thanks for using the fixya forums!

No fuse box diagram

On the 1998 Legacy the Radio fuse is the fifth from engine, third from driver, on the bottom, 15A, and the Lighter is in the same long row on the top, 20A.
