Hi, my `girlfriends 1996 barina is a great car, but we've noticed as of late an alert light is lighting up on the dash with a single S. the car does not run properly than & if switched off the car is unable to resart for a short period of time. If sumone could bring me up to speed as to what I can do, it would be great. Thanking You Nathan

Start by insuring the battery and charging system are good. Some of these systems act very strange if the battery charge gets low.

1st thought is a blown bulb or no power to that section but I will go with the blown bulb if all the other lights on the dash are working as they are all on a printed circuit and all come on when you turn on the lights.

check the dash dimmer switch first.there is 12v in and and a variable voltage out.

I have a Holden Barina year 2007 and There is problem of ABS.I have found some issues with the TK Barina. I was driving the other day when the ABS light came on. When coming to a stand still I hear a grauncing noise and sometimes an electrical tick when the brakes engage.Now the noise coming in every brakes, is this car is Re call or can i fix this problem , please help i am very stress, because many mechanics cant find the code in their scaners.Thanks in Advance.Tarlo or Please advise e-mail [email protected]

check bulbs first normally do not notice them going out probably find both gone

battery and dirty terminals is a good assumption
have the battery load tested

I had the same problem I had to replace the indercator and wipe switch it had a problem and that seemed to fix the problem

Fuse able link by the battery .start there

its the tail light fuse under the hood...its blown for sure....the boys at saturnmust have had there thinking caps on that day fusing the tail light with the dash lights so that the driver would notice something wrong....kinda neet.....and stumped me for a minute or two...
