I replaced the alternator about a month ago, and it held a good charge for a few weeks, than it died down, and i've replaced the battery twice in the last 3 days. now my question, the wiring harness has a single wire and it goes to the fuse box and is shoved into the space ith the ac-cruise 20 amp fuse, now i'm not convinced that is where it goes, can someone please tell me where the end goes?

Something is obviously putting a drain on the battery, if all the things you had checked are good. If you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery touch it back, it should spark a little, but not alot. If it sparks quite a bit you know something is staying on that shouldn't. Possibly a glove box light, or if your truck has a light under the hood the mercury switch in it may have gone bad causing it to stay on. If it's taking 8 days to go dead you'll be looking for something small. I hope this helps.

You need go to a NAPA parts store or equal store, and have them check, and show you your out put voltage on your alternator. If it is working fine it will be between 13.65 to 14.25 volts. Also have a 2 amp battery charge on the battery to get a good deep charge, fast charging only give a surface charge that doesn`t last.Without the alternator charging, the battery will run down and down and down. The battery will need the deep charge to restore it`s reserve power, not just surface power. If the alternator is ok,then you have what is know as a draw on the system, something is drawing enough volts to drain battery, even though key is out if ignition and nothing is left on.Cocks, and clock radios cause this a lot of the time, then there is delay dome lights that stay on,and in the day time you would not even notice. The alternator it self can draw a battery down while not driving the car.The voltage regulator or a bad diode in the alternator can do this.If I can help [email protected]
SOURCE: battery won't stay charged alternator is good. so what could be the cause?
check alternator wires for damage.your drive belt could be slipping.replace battery cables.check alternator fuse.code scan for pcm fault since it pcm controlled.
Diagnose the door lock issues first, that you know is a problem
Why would you replace the alternator ?
