The proper engine position for the mark to line up is with the #1 piston at top dead center. Start with that as your reference.

SOURCE: where are the timing marks on a 92 subaru loyale

toward the back of the engine, underneath a little rubber cover, if you look under the hood, it is right on top back toward the firewall. The cover has got a little tip on top to grab onto and pull up. Only a couple of inches long and rectangular in shape. It sits right on top of the engine where it bolts up to the transaxle.

Where is timing mark on a 3 .0 92 ford ranger truck

You talking about valve timing? If so, if one camshaft sprocket, the mark on the sprocket points straight down to crankshaft. The mark on crankshaft sprocket points straight up to mark on camshaft sprocket.

I need the timing marks for a 2001 subaru outback 4 cylinder 2.5

The mark is on the crankshaft pulley (small cut) and timing cover, you may need to hilight it with some paint. The sticker on the hood tells you the degrees. Timing is not adjustable. If you are trying to replace the belt you can find further answers doing a google search.

I have a 1993 subaru impreza 4 door L sedan with

mcdevito75 here, You"ll have to manually turn the camshaft gear and other gears to re align the marks, use the starter to align the crankshaft marks. Of course you"ll need the shop manual to show you these marks. Worse case, have the car towed to you local shop for repair.

the timing marks are on the camshaft pulleys and there are 2 notches on each pulley> they line up with 2 marks on the engine block for each pulley> and the crankshaft has a notch that lines up with a mark on the engine block aswell> pluss the new timing belt will have white marks on it that will line up with all of the marks on the pulleys when they are in the right place so its nearly impossable to do it wrong

I have a 1993 subaru Legacy that is out of time. I'm trying to find out how to find the markings to put it back into time

all marks align at noon, both lines on camshafts point up ,don't follow any marks on face of crankshaft gear follow line located on reluctor this is part of the crankshaft gear on back of it, the line on the reluctor needs to face noon and match a line on the oilpump where the crankshaft position sensor is installed good luck

Setting the timing in a 1993 subaru justy

If you are talking of the rubber timing belt setting then rotate the cam gear till the timing mark (small hole) on the camshaft gear aligns with the mark on the plastic cover behind it. Mark is on top of plastic cover (12 'o' clock).
Rotate the crank till the timing mark (groove, not the one for the crankshaft woodruff key) on crankshaft gear is aligned with the mark on the bottom of the plastic cover behind it. (6 'o' clock).
Tighten tensioner against timing belt rotate engine a few times make sure alignment of timing marks remain.
