SOURCE: 2002 Hyundai Accent GL error code P0442, EVAP

You have a vacuum leak. This means that you will need to go through all of the vacuum likes and make sure they are connected and not broken. If they are broken buy new vacuum line, its like less and $1 per foot. In your case if you can I would replace all of the vacuum lines if they look cracked and old.

SOURCE: what wires do I need

The wires on the Transmission Range Sensor that control the ability to crank the starter are the BLACK/GREEN wire at Pin 6 and the wire at Pin 10 which is either BLACK/GREEN or BLACK WHITE depending on your model. (build - date and transmission type)

With all that said, I think it only fair to warn you that bypassing these wires will set codes in your Engine Control Module. It is not going to like it if there is power at pin 10 with the transmission in reverse or any of the forward gears. This may also cause your transmission to not shift properly because the ECM will not know for sure what gear you are in.

Testimonial: "thanks so much for the information I will install a switch and only use it when needed and to ensure that this is my problem."

Which two prongs to connect to bypass neutral safety switch on 96 Chevy

The neutral safety switch is an important component that prevents the engine from starting unless the transmission is in the neutral or park position. If you no longer have the switch, you can bypass it by jumping the starter relay. This can be done by connecting the two wires that would normally go to the switch directly to each other.
Here's how to do it:
  1. Locate the starter relay in the underhood fuse box or the power distribution center.
  2. Find the two wires that would normally go to the neutral safety switch. These wires are usually color-coded and easily recognizable.
  3. Using a jumper wire, connect the two wires directly to each other.
  4. Turn the key to the "on" position and see if the engine cranks.
Note: Bypassing the neutral safety switch can be dangerous as it eliminates an important safety feature. It's also ******* in some states and can void the warranty on your vehicle. Consider using the bypass as a temporary solution until you can obtain and install a new neutral safety switch.

My car won't start so I need to know how to bypass the neutral safety switch in my 2002 Hyundai accent gl

These instructions are gor the 99 accent GSI. The steps should be much the same. ensure these instructions make sens to you before continuing. Keep in mind that you have now bypassed one of the safety features of the vehicle and it will now start in any gear. This can be left as a permanent fix. However it is my advice that this is used as a temporary solution to get you out of a bind and a proper switch should be installed as soon as one can be located and the cost covered!

Neutral safety switch bypass!
The cost of the switch and labor to replace with OEM parts is the mane reason for this work around. This is meant to be a temporary fix untill the propper swith can be replaced! The oem switch alone with no labour is $ 167.00 canadian funds.

Very limited tools or knowledge needed!
Material Needed
One 12 volt momentary switch, about 10 feet of 16 gauge wire, one inline fuse and a few crimp on wire ends. Total cost not more then $27.00 Canadian funds.
1. Remove air box for easy access
2. locate starter motor follow smaller of the 2 wires up to the under hood fuse box. ( black with white stripe)
3. Remove about .5 inch of the rubber shielding of the black and white wire
4. Attach 1 half of the 16 gauge wire to the now exposed wire.( for better connection solder if possible)
5. Attach other half of the 16 guage wire to constant 12 volt source. Place the inline fuse in this wire.
6. Route both of the newly attached wires threw the fire wall into the drivers compartment.
7. Locate a place to drill and place the switch. I used one of the blanks in the panel with interior light dimmer switch.
8. Connect your switch to the two wires and mount.

You are done.

Won't start

hi if you just try this suggestion and update back on result ?? if you pull off the small/thin wire that connects to starter solenoid then with a seperate length of wire connect one end to the solenoid where you have taken the other wire from use a terminal or crock clip if possible ? then turn on ignition ensure gear in neutral! NOW touch firmly but only for a seond or so ! if starter turns over ?engine starts? then the problem you have is possibly? the key start circuit from ign/switch ? or may be the ign key req's re chip this test will bypass the key start and immob if starter turns ? hope this brings the reason for fault towards a conclusion ??
