HOW TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS??
SOURCE: need to change ignition but have no key 1995 olds cutlas serria
diconnect battery and wait 30 minutes, then remove steering whell and then remove clip holding lock plate, remove plate and unscrew, usually three screws and remove the turn signal sir coil assembly, then you will see a bolt that is holding the lock cylinder in, it will have 2 wires attached to it and they must be disconnected at the base of the steering column and routed up through the column, then replace parts in reverse order, do not spin the sir coil or you will have to replaqce it

take the two motor mounts off the front of the van this will allow u to get to the back 3 plugs or u can crawl underneath where the exhaust comes down at there is enough room to do it that way also

THEY HAVE THREE BIG PROBLEMS ,,,,FIRST THE CRANK SESNOR GOES BAD ,, THIS SENSOR REPLACES THE " PICK UP " IN OLDER VEHICLES... IF SENSOR BAD THEN NO PULSE TO THE COIL PACKS...IE NO SPARK...NEXT BIG PROBLEM IS THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE FAILURE.... AND LAST BIG PROBLEM IS THE " CHIP " ON THE KEY... LOOKING AT YOUR IGNITION KEY YOU SHOULD SEE A LITTLE BLACK CHIP WITH A SILVER CONTACT IN THE MIDDLE.. THIS IS YOU SECURITY DEVICE....THE CONTACT WEARS OUT INSIDE OF LOCK TUMBLER ASSY. CAUSING IT NOT TO READ THE KEY AND COMPUTER THINKS SOMEOME IS TRYING TO STEEL THE CAR SO IT DISABLES THE ECM ....MAIN COMPUTER...... CAUSING A NO START CONDITION LET ME KNOW IF I CAN HELP MORE

I am having a similar problem, but there is no check engine light. It seems that mine dies at the light or running, if the rpm's drop. I am wondering if the Idle air control valve is bad or possibly the ERG valve?
SOURCE: where and how to change
1 - remove the engine vanity cover. 2 - Disconnect the electrical connector from the coil pack. This is the silver thing the electrical connector goes to. 3 - remove the coil pack (about 6-8 bolts). It may require some jiggling as the rubber boots that go to the plugs will have some resistance. 4 - Note, you should so this with the engine warm. 5 - Now you have access to the plugs. Rear: 1 - a little more difficult. You have to remove/loosen some of the assembly covering the coil pack to get it out. 2 - getting it back in is harder, because you can't see well in the back of the engine.
