Does any one know why my car stalls when stopped at a light and I hit the gas to go , or it will try to stall and I have to floor it to get it to go and even then it takes quite a few seconds before it will take off .

tork converter is locking out see if you can unplug it as a quick fix it will be a round plug on the training should fix the problem but remember its only temporary as to you will lose overdrive and kill gas mileage by 5-6 miles a gallon but it wont damage anything

I had this kind of problem on my car a couple of times. It can either be the idle control valve or overheating. you can clean the idle control valve or replace it. the one for my car was like $140 at the dealership.

What does the code say? There is no such thing as a computer glitch, that would be a loose connection somewhere causing this intermitent problem. Electronic controls in cars are very reliable. Unless of course it is subjected to unusual conditions.

If the car does not have any other drivability problems then I would suspect a transmission torque converter problem which would make it stall with a slight ****. Does it stall coming to a stop before it has shifted to higher gears. If it stalls while in 2nd or 1st gear then it is not the converter.
