I'm assuming that your vehicle was jump started due to it's battery being depleted. In such a case it is normal for any stereos with start codes to require a four digit PIN to be punched in before operation can commence. In the case that your stereo doesn't require a PIN and doesn't ask for one, then it is possible that your stereo's fuse may be blown or in fact that your stereo is faulty and may be the reason for your power drain.
It will help if you can provide more specifics such as whether or not your stereo shows any illumination lights or screen prompts etc. Perhaps it's on the radio setting, but all you're hearing is static. Please provide more info if possible.

RECENTLY HAD MY CAR JUMPED BECAUSE I LEFT THE HEADLIGHTS ON. NOW MY RADIO ISN'T WORKING. DID I FRY THE RADIO AND COULD A REPLACEMENT RADIO FIX THIS OR COULD THIS ALSO BE AFFECTED BY THE WIRING?

When jumping, or anything else electrical on a vehicle, always connect negative LAST. You could have fried the fuse or the radio. Check fuse first. On newer vehicles jumping is dangerous and can cause system failure.

Horn and brake lights

This happend when you put a new sterio? Now your horn and tail lights dont work. Well some models require and extra harness to make the after market sterio work, check in to that. Or a fuse, make you where the wire is and trace it to see if it goes to the radio

Fuse keeps blowing to my dash guages in my 95 gmc sierra why?

have you recently installed a new radio ? I have knowen people to install radiosincorectly the dim wire behind the radio shows as a earth. however when you turn headlights on this becomes a positive. if you have wired this wire to your sterio this is whyyour dash lights & internal cab light etc keep blowing.. if your wondering why sterio still works is because its earthed through the aerial or mounting bolts.

2002 diville radio wont stay on for more than 5 sec

hi i have a 2002 dts and had the same problem. i recently had work done to my car and suddently my radio stop playing. well recently my battery went dead and i got a jump start and that fixed the problem. maybe if you disconnect your battery and re-connect that might reset the system. i found out the hard way, but since i jumped my car the radio has been fine.
