I have a 1999 Honda Civic, when I try to turn on my car it just makes a clicking noise, I have to get off and slam the hood and it will start fine. My battery wire connectors are fine and tight.

Do you have a burglar alarm system in your Honda with a switch in the hood? Check on that, your problem should be there.

SOURCE: clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

SOURCE: heater blower doesn't work for honda civic 2002

It sounds like your relay could be bad. When your relay contacts become worn your volt meter will show 12v coming out of the relay until you put a load on the circuit, then the power goes away. You have to get to the wire going to your blower either from the back of the relay or by sticking a straight pin through the hot wire. Clip your + lead to the pin and the - to a ground. Turn blower switch on. With the blower unplugged you will show 12v but when you plug in the blower the power will disappear. If this is the case your relay is bad.

i have a 1992 honda civic hatchback with an 1995 single head vtec motor. the problem with my car is when i go and try to start the car it wont start up right away. instead it makes a clicking noise everytime i step on the clutch and turn the key. my honda is a 5 speed... sometimes it starts up right away but also sometimes it just seems like after 10 to 15 clicks the car still havent started yet. all the lights and everything else comes on fine from what i can see... what else can be the problem or anything that i can do very soon without spending any or alot of money yet???

A/C on Honda Civic not working. Clattering noise

Most likely too much freon, freon is not always the answer,a bad condenser,or expansion valve, anything can cause this to happen,if there is too much freon,it will try and lock up.

1999 civic won't turn over clicking noise under dash.

Likely needs a starter. But don't buy a new one. Go to a local remanufacture shop they may be able to fix the old one cheaply or failing that go to a wrecking yard and get a used one for cheap. Just do not go to a honda dealer they will charge you big bucks.

Starting problems

if this problem persists then you could check a few things on it, like on the times when its not even making a noise when trying to turn the key, use rubber/wooden object and tap the starter motor but not touching the contacts on the back. if this amkes it spring into life then it will be your starter motor if this does nothing then it will be a dodgy battery supply. does it also make like a screaching noise while trying to start? if so then definitely your starter motor

99 Honda Civic won't start

It may be caused by a faulty ignition switch located where the ignition key is inserted. there may be some connections burnt and causing shorteges when starting. hondas are well known for having these cheap end switches....
