SOURCE: 3.8L V6 Dodge Grand Caravan is getting very poor

The oxygen sensor is down behind the motor mid ways of motor. Can be got to from underneath. I have already replace one, so I know how hard it is to get too. If you decide to go from on top of motor, You will have to take off all the breather and hoses to get to it. From underneath you lay in center of vehicle and its on top of manifold. It comes out better when its hot.

SOURCE: location of oxygen sensors on 2002 dodge grand

The o2 sensors are located on the exhaust system. The upstream in on the rear exhaust manifold and the down stream is in front of the catalytic converter.Usually when they are bad they will make the check engine like go on.Make sure the air filter is clean, tires at correct inflation, alignment is to specs. If the vehicles pulls to one side or the other or steering wheel is not straight when driving down a straight stretch of road. Also tires are wearing normal.Use cruise control where ever on highway. If you let your vehicle warm up in winter. This also uses gas.Hope this helps.Good luck.

How do I replace an oxygen sensor (code 21) in a 1993 Toyota Camry?

you need oxygen socket and 3/8 ratchet wrench.easy way to replace oxygen sensor is to start vechicle let run few minutes just enough to get exhaust system hot so it will make it easier remove oxygen sensor.just remove heat shields disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector then replace oxygen sensor.use penetrating oil let it soak around oxygen sensor for 20 minutes that will help make it easier to remove sensor.

Hi I have a 2004 Dodge Caravan with a 3.3 liter engine and it shows a fault code # P0137. Could you please tell me what this code means. Hope you can help!!!!!

One of the wires to an oxygen sensor on your exhaust manifold has a break in the insulation and it is shorting against part of the metal frame of the vehicle. The oxygen sensors look a bit like spark plugs set into the side of the exhaust manifold. I think I am right in saying that on the V6 dodges there are 4 such sensors One on each exhaust manifold before the catalytic converters and one after each catalytic converter. Check them all but I think the code is for the second sensor (after the catalyst) on bank one (the bank of cylinders closest to the radiator). The cable attached to each oxygen sensor has four wires within it, two to power the sensor heater (the need to be warm to work) and two for the oxygen sensor element.

Need to know where O2 sensor is located on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan.

There are two oxygen sensors: one is upstream of the catalytic converter and one downstream of the catalytic converter. The oxygen sensor, or O2 sensor is usually located near the catalytic converter.Oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter in the exhaust system on the back of the engine. ------- Thanks.Helpmech

Engine codes are 12, 51,21,53,55 can someone tell me what these codes are. engine is running extremely rich.

12 is battery has been disconnected recently, or went dead.
51 is Oxygen sensor stuck on lean mixture reading
21- no change in oxygen sensor reading
53- internal problem with logic module
55- is end of message/codes.

51 & 21, basically telling you same thing, but I wouldn't jump at changing oxygen sensor first, as a bad M.A.P. sensor can cause a rich mixture, thus oxygen sensor switches to lean to try and compensate. Personally, I'd go with map sensor first, check connections and vacuum lines if all good, replace it, then I'd go to oxygen sensor .

Location of Oxygen sensor and how to replace it...

they are in the exhaust system. one upstream that controls fuel mixture and one downstream that reports on oxygen content in exhaust to report emissions failure. Is check engine light on?

If not, why would you change it?

Where is the oxygen sensor?

Follow your exhaust manifold down from engine, it will be on side of exhaust, sticking out 2-3 inches, with wires coming from it to a connector.
